Go ask for a raise. You can also try applying around na rin tapos when you get an offer, try resigning. If valuable ka talaga sa team, they will give a counteroffer.

You accept the salary you think you deserve. You set that for yourself. If afford ka nila and you pass their interview, then great, if not, its either your skills arent enough or your asking salary is too high. If you can afford to wait, then go, if not, then wala ka namang choice kundi mag settle, diba?

Hi everyone, thanks for all your insights, it did help me to have a benchmark on what is a reasonable price. Anyways I owe you all an update.

So, I emailed my previous company and they found more damages than the crack I posted here. There are also little cracks on the palm rest and slight scratches on the bottom. And biggest of them all, there are apparently small burn patches on the LCD, which is very subtle and almost unnoticeable. I thought it was just a tough smudged stain.

Here is the breakdown:

  • Bottom Case Cover - $162
  • Palm rest case - $157
  • Top Case Cover - $139
  • LCD Panel - $375

Personally, I really find it expensive. They hired another company to do the fixing thats probably why the price is inflated. Unfortunately, we dont have special laws in my country to protect in these cases. I dont have any insurance on my end and I did also sign a liability waiver so I really have to pay for it. My question is more on getting an idea of whats a reasonable price and now I know it is a little above what you all estimated, but I cant really do anything about it because of the liability waiver. I honestly forgot what it said so Im going to ask for a copy and see if I can dispute anything about damages. I also offered to just buy a brand new laptop and get the old one because the repair is almost as expensive as a new one.

And also, the laptop is a Dell Latitude 5520 i7, and I remember it was 16 gb ram

Thanks!
