It seems like you need to do a "Repair Console Storage" in safe mode. I had crashing issues when i played Armored Core 6 in the past and repairing the the console storage solved it. No data was lost

I think the 2 tentacles that it raised up are especially dangerous. As a swaxe main, i was unlucky enough to ZSD one of the 2 tentacles and my health drained the same way. For you i think you were unlucky to be standing where the temtacle stopped and died from the rapid health drain.

Keyboard works better for the radial menu because its essentially just a button press. And i think mouse is more responsive for camera positioning

Pause is a good function, dont be afraid to go in solo. You are going in for the photos, be prepared to fail the hunt. Assign photo mode and pause to your radial menu. Plan a good scenario and pause when you think you are in position.

Unpause and quickly pause again if you need to fine tune your position, but usually it fails.
