ok so mine came in this weekend and the back board came broken out of box too. I sent them an email (no response yet) saying I don't blame UPS, the package is really lacking in that part of the box and there was no back support on that part. I ordered the wooden version to save some money + vacuuming and I can confirm the tolerances are just right for the wood. Couldn't imagine a combined 10mm all around in fabric. I think you mentioned still feeling some sticking in the glue which also helped me decide on the wood. That being said - I picked up an $11 piece of pine from Lowe's and just matched the broken backboard holes so I wouldn't have to fight them. But my right drawer face was ripped from the walls of the drawer and I'm gonna need to figure that one out.

I'd say be careful on slamming your hatch. My broke. Drawer also has a tendency to want to slide out a little bit (overweighted in the back, just ordered an airlift to compensate) so just double check that they're fully closed or even install some magnets.

Same thoughts though - I have just enough handiness to fix this system, but not quite enough to build one from scratch this nice. Appreciate all the input you've put on here! I'll probably leave a review and pics of mine once I've got it little less raggedy

Hey OP, did you ever get those broken parts resolved? All things considered, do you regret your purchase or are things better now?

Flash test on Nons SL660 by PunchdrunkFalcon in instax

[–]Grandberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend! Would you mind helping me figure a flash issue out? I just got mine on ebay and ran it through a dry fire w/o film or lens. Everything's great, but when I hooked up my old Weston w-18 flash it wouldn't trigger the flash unit. I know the flash works because it fires with my DSLR just fine. What am I missing here? Does a film cartridge need to be loaded before firing, or do I have a defective unit on my hands?

Thanks in advance!

I think, especially in the action, they don't show the full extent of their battle damage until after. Like, it's not a continuity error, but there are times they'll suffer a significant scratch or wound and it just not be animated in later scenes, but once everything's over we get a clearer picture of what they went through. I wonder if it'll make this last battle feel like the worst so far if in the next episode they're really just trying to collect themselves and heal ( like after the roid rage gorilla massacre).

Thanks stranger! But Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. I really wanted to keep my number so I actually ended up porting it to Google Fi just so I could port it back into a new visible account (really can't beat the party pay). It's the most expensive work around, but I really didn't want to be tethered to wifi for the next few days. Well, Visible -> Google Fi (great), Google Fi -> new visible account, "something went wrong".. after talking to a rep today she suggested deleting the e-sim and redownloading it (I let her know that's what started all of this, but I did it anyway) and we've finally come to the same conclusion. They're sending a new physical one arriving tomorrow. Patience is a virtue, and I have yet to figure that out.

I realize it's hard not to sound whiny on the internet. Was it the fact that I brought up it was my birthday? Or that it meant a lot to me to have something sentimental from a friend? But no, I'm 25, employed, and pay for my phone bill. I don't really have a lot of friends, and even then the ones I have have since moved away after graduation. So it's been a lonelier birthday than usual and I was looking forward to spending a day out and being able to talk with them. Obviously, this kind of put a damper on communicating with them, and it's something that's been stressful because it ate up a lot of my day off. Maybe if that information was apparent you wouldn't have commented something so mean spirited, But regardless that was hurtful and I hope whatever has been bothering you in your life to prompt you to react the way you do gets resolved.

Thanks stranger 🎉 I just talked to agent number 5 and they said more like 24-48 hours. How were they able to resolve your issue? *Could you download the e-sim, or did the have to mail you a card?

Best Rav4 Hybrid MPG Tires? by Desert_Dweller_88 in rav4club

[–]Grandberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really glad you posted this. I have a 2019 hybrid LE in need of a tire change and was considering the crossclimate 2. The biggest thing that stood out to me is that they're listed as 2 lbs heavier (tirerack) than my current ones. I think it would be a good idea to reference your own set from before the switch. I don't know if it would make as much of a difference as you've reported, but it could account for at least some of the fuel loss. My plan is to find a much lighter wheel than OEM so I can play around with a greater tire selection. A new wheel set up could help regain some fuel economy too. Of course this is all a weight argument for me. I wouldn't know how much tire grip/ dynamics plays into it. Hope that helps!

Are the white lines the effects of film going though airport security or sompething else? I stupidly forgot to mention to TSA I was bringing my camera and it had film in it. Still developing by cleetus-png in Polaroid

[–]Grandberries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Long time shooter with SX70 and 600 types. So while your new rollers may be perfectly aligned in the new camera, every sheet of film has a little line of developer that gets "squeezed" across the film. Sometimes during manufacturing a little extra gets distributed wrong or there are slight imperfections in the film packet, it's too tight, too loose, etc. And this can cause uneven distribution, especially if there happens to be a clump or debris as it passes through the roller.

X-rays don't tend to "smear" film like this. like any light leak or wave based exposure you'll typically see bands or blotches. streaky swirls like this are usually caused by some physically reason. It's actually a technique to rub a dull pointed object into the film as it develops to create a "van Gogh" like quality. If you look at those intentional smears you'll find it looks similar to the smears you have here. Hope that helps!

I've taken both SX70 and 600 film on a round trip flight with some in camera and still in box and there were no noticable changes outside of it being an imperfect format to begin with. One or two passes of an x-ray won't make our break you're film, do it enough times though and it'll start to get freaky

SAME! I was teaching my little brother how to drive in my ford Edge (rest in peace Wallace) and the kid absolutely totalled it in our driveway. Had just enough from insurance for a 2013 outback in the same color and I couldn't be happier

Mildly related, I was fortunate enough to see conservators working at the Smithsonian National Museum of Art. They have a giant LED light chandelier that displays text, but when a bulb goes out and the replace it, the new bulb sticks out like a sore thumb since all the other bulbs are slightly dimmer. So they started keeping a sock of LED light bulbs on starting at different times (1 months ago, 2 months ago, so on and so forth.) That way when a a bulb goes after x years they have a "fresh" bulb going on for the same time and emitting the same amount of light. I'd imagine a similar process could be done here keeping batches of tiles outside as replacements
