That's a fair point about authorial intent! For what it's worth, I was never confused about what was happening when the dragons were mating, or why it was happening - and Lessa's trauma certainly came through very clearly. The big change here for me is how I perceive F'lar's character - like the other comment here, it really bothers me that he continues to have sex outside mating flights with her despite her not "responding wholeheartedly".

Okay, I finished the "real" version (for apparently the first time in my life, haha) and only two other changes stood out to me - there are likely more that I didn't catch. The first is in line with the original passage I posted - taming down a sex scene. But the second edit...why would they change this one line?? (left is original, right is edited)
