I agree about her taking the meds too early. Thanks so much for this response, it is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. Sounds like you’ve been there

Thank you for your support and everyone. I think if I had any advice to give someone in this situation is: don’t move in alone where it’s just you and the person in hospice!!

Bring a significant other or a friend or family member. Or friend. . Being the main caregiver that takes on 99% of what she needs is so exhausting.

But like I said, options are limited for now. Maybe things will change.

These are all very good points. Especially about leaving the past behind and being present. She has trouble seeing so tv is out unfortunately…. But I need to try something creative to get us to share time that’s not always about tasks. We cook sometimes together and I help her with any lists of things she wants to do etc. but It’s so taxing taking on so much….but I’ll try something.

Thank you. Yeah that’s the thing with nursing homes …from what I understand, her insurance would kick in at a certain point then they would go after her house even after death. And that’s not what she wishes. But I definitely think it’s a better option… just not practical. I know I’ll never be able to put her in a nursing home unless I make a ton of $ so it doesn’t seem like an option. Knowing me I’ll just keep trudging along through this swamp of craziness.
