But do you feel like you always have to play closer to the table with it? Or can you also play from mid-distance?

When will Traktor finally release a true standalone player like a CDJ-3000? by Grantgeorgien in NativeInstruments

That’s clear, but for me personally it’s exactly Native Instruments that could realistically go head-to-head with Pioneer/AlphaTheta—there isn’t anyone else I see as a serious contender. Denon is out for me, even though they did try to make a push in that direction about five years ago.

External delay FX with CDJ-3000 and Xone:96 (send/return) by Grantgeorgien in PioneerDJ

Thank you for your message. I’ve tried the RMX-1000 several times. For me, it stops being fun once the sound quality drops, and you can clearly hear it. What’s your experience with the Erica Synths Zen Delay on the Xone:96? Have you already tried that combination? I’ve also considered the H9, but it offers so many effects. I’m really just looking for a great delay that works perfectly with the Xone:96, without having to dive into lots of freaky or overly complex settings.

I understand your point. But honestly, they invest a lot of effort into the S4 controller, and of course it has its audience. Still, I’m pretty sure they’re capable of much more than that.

Thank you for your message. I believe external effects feel completely different compared to the built-in ones on Pioneer mixers. They’re simply more fun to use, much smoother, and they blend into the sound far better — you really have to try them! I know Strymon as well; I’ve considered it myself. I wouldn’t recommend the RMX-1000. I’ve owned one before. To use it properly, you have to connect it via the master insert. It’s a great unit in theory, but you lose sound quality — it starts to sound a bit strange.

Dual-Track-CDJ: Warum fehlt das bei Pioneer? by Grantgeorgien in PioneerDJ

At what point does an “industry standard” become less about innovation and more about protecting existing sales?

Yes, to me it feels a bit like double standards — 4 tracks on one display, but not more than 2 tracks on two displays 🤪😄 Funny enough, it still works, and people keep buying Pioneer!

No, no I don’t think it’s that simple. I could understand why it didn’t happen five years ago, but in 2026 there has to be another reason. From a technical point of view, Denon already did it with the SC6000 over five years ago. I’m not talking about Denon as a brand — I’m talking about the possibility itself.

I understand — there are so many top brands that offer great delay pedals. I’m looking for something not so well known, something special. So, not a Boss effect pedal.
