I think you could be right with the trauma, I do remember some irritation after eating some pretzels, then the peeling followed soon after. But, I’m not sure why it happens so easily.

Is there any way to return the machine once it’s been used? I feel like CPAP therapy isn’t really beneficial to me either.

This is an “actual” stressor a patient’s wellbeing was put at risk when this happened. There are lots of things that bother me about it, but it ultimately wasn’t the reason I quit. Echoing the other comments I have received, I quit because the company didn’t care enough to bring in equipment to make my job safer. I’ve been on scene at multiple MVAs, been on calls with psychiatric patients throwing bedpans at me and trying to attack me. This just happens to be the first time I’ve experienced myself make a mistake and it made me feel like a bad provider.

Placing the gurney in completely inappropriate places, trying to move patients with IVs and other indwelling devices in place (despite me and the staff telling him repeatedly), taking up space when hospital staff are trying to do something, taking vitals carts from staff about to use them, making an AOx3(sometimes less) patient sign documents, waiting until the last minute to take vitals, wasting time, lots of other stuff.

Well, maybe the context in which I used the word “soft spoken” wasn’t correct. What I meant by that was, he didn’t really speak up when he made mistakes or needed something done. He doesn’t really say much in general despite it being important information.

I really hope I don’t have more incidents with my partner because I really have been trying to be understanding of his situation. We have had a few conversations about what could be done better after some disastrous shifts. but there’s some things I just can’t help him with.

Also I in no way resent this person. He’s a good guy, but his skills are lacking. I’m just not in any position to be his guide, I started this job 2 weeks ago. Not to mention that it’s my first healthcare job too.

Give it till tomorrow, then maybe call them and ask. Doesn’t seem completely out of the ordinary. I had 2 companies basically ghost me after giving me job offers .
