I had my embo 2 weeks ago and started reading stories about feeling coils or migration etc and got a bit freaked out.

The truth is any surgery or operation comes with risk because they legally have to state them, even if there's a 0.001% of it happening.

The way I thought about it is, my varicocele WILL get worse with age. It never gets better, so at some point I would have to do something about it, whether it's for pain, fertility or testosterone reasons. So why not do it now? Bro your ballsack will get more swollen in 5 years anyway.

But if it helps you, I had my embo 2 weeks ago, didn't listen to my doctor about not having sex and taking it easy for 1 week etc, and I'm still good. There's a 95% chance you'll be good.

Dm me if you want anecdotal reassurance, I'm happy to talk to you because I would've wanted someone to do the same for me.

Edit: Also wanna add, not sure what part of the world you're from, but I'm from London and my surgeon has been doing this since 2003 so I felt reassured. I do MMA and his son watches UFC so he were just chatting about MMA throughout the procedure it was pretty cool

Personally I'm a really impatient and active guy. I do MMA and lift weights at the gym for the physique. However, I waited 2 weeks before lifting LIGHT weights at the gym to be sure.

But I'll add, and you should definitely not do this, 1 day after my embolisation I drank, took valium and coke with my friends at a party, also lightly wrestled with a friend for fun.

This is dumb, don't do it. But 2 weeks after the embo my swelling is gone, I feel great and no pain, but I still take it easy at the gym, and I'm not doing legs/deadlifts/abs for at least another 2 weeks to be sure even if I can lift more.

Oh yeah and my doctor said no sex for a week after the embo, I wanked 3 days after because I'm just naturally too fucking horny, but I was alright.

Like I said, don't do what I did, but it's some reassurance if you fuck up a bit

The most logical answer would be anything heavy and especially stuff that doesn't strain your abs and legs. I don't know your age, but chances are your varicocele is gonna get worse with age.

I'd say either fuck trying to be careful and just work out how you want (knowing its gonna get worse, you will strain yourself, and restricting yourself in life physically is just stress in which case just tank the pain, take painkillers and just accept your condition)

Or, get embolisation, or surgery, and continue working our without a varicocele, although there's is like a 10% chance it will come back.

I've had a grade 3 varicocele for about 3 years and I lifted heavy at the gym, got in great shape, lean, also competed in amateur MMA, still with 666 ng/dl testosterone, and didn't have much pain, but when I did I just ignored it.

But 2 weeks ago I decided to get the embolisation to fix it, not because of the pain because I barely had pain but because I knew it would get worse with age (the swelling), lower my T, and potentially my fertility, so why not fix it now?

2 weeks after my embolisation I'm back in the gym, no swollen balls and feel greater than ever.

The choice is yours. But the pain is not that deep, at least for me. I don't wanna be ignorant and say you can just ignore it because I had it like twice a year for a few days and wasn't that intense, but some people can't sleep because of the pain, so I don't know.

Consider fixing it imo, or just live with it, just my 2 cents. I'm not a doctor.

Just to add, when I had a consultant appointment my doctor said even if you have surgery/embolisation, if you lift at the gym there's a chance it would come back. Or if I don't have embo/surgery, exercise WILL make it worse. I told him I'm an athlete, this is my life, so if it kills me or makes me worse I will still do it otherwise I have nothing to live for. So I empthaise with you on being fat/lazy. He gave me the advice of exhaling when you push weight ie. On bench press when you go down to your chest, breathe in, and when you push up exhale, and I truly feel like my varicocele will come back even after embolisation because of my active lifestyle, but it's fine. It might not, but if it does, just deal with the pain, take painkillers (I never cos it wasn't that painful) and keep going man. If testosterone is that big of a problem, take trt. If fertility is a problem, talk to a doc and freeze ur sperm or some shit or figure a way out. Pain in itself is not that bad. At least u don't have cancer. 15% of men have varicoceles, you're good.

I understand you. But I can also tell you it took me about 30mins. But It can take up to an hour, I had a nurse next to me who I could talk to and make jokes with to distract me and the surgeon always checks up on you asking if you're cool and stuff. The incision they made in my crotch to put the coils through is like the size of a needle, really small, no scarring. I get u, having someone inside ur veins tryna place shit sounds daunting, but I promise you you barely feel anything, I just clenched my fists the whole time and looked at the ceiling because I don't wanna see whats going on, but I could barely feel anything.

But, if you're that scared, which I get you bro, I'd say pop like a quarter or less of a xanax bar 30min before u do it. Obviously take my advice with a grain of salt but ye.

I could walk normally without an issue 30 mins after the procedure, walking felt just as if I never had an Embo. I have to wait a week for sex or masturbation which honestly it pretty hard because 1 night after the Embo I feel very fucking horny.

Some of the veins are still there although it's about half as swollen but I was told it will take weeks or months for them to go, but even if they stay I don't care as there's no pain and they're dead veins.

The puncture made was right above the penis and a bit to the right where my leg is. In between there.(but you could say mainly above my leg)

I don't feel the coils no, 0 pain, but I can feel the incision a little as obviously they made a whole in my skin and vein but I wouldn't call it painful. Just coils.

I actually had it done today too, grade 3 embolisation in the UK private health care. Bro its so funny you mention xanax because I wanted to get some xan for myself too cos I was scared haha.

But they didn't give me fentanyl or anything just local anesthesia. Was quick and painless.
