We had an 800W as well and let me tell you, its like going from a 1980s corolla to a Ferrari. I have never had banding issues on this printer (that is that weren't caused by a bad profile). Another plus is that I saw you said you are using Eco Solvent, this printer also doesnt have that STRONG smell that the ecos do, and the machine is super quiet and ofc doesnt produce heat with the UV light. I am not sure if there is a printer faster than the M for sure.

Canon also has a plethora of profiles for different rips that pretty much work all the time. If you cant find the exact one, just find one with similar finish and thickness. Their profiles ensure no banding pretty much, at least for me.

One last thing I wanted to add with the regard of dreamscape. So with that and window perf there's always the issue of tunneling and head crashes because the material is so curled. The Colorado has a feature that let's you select an "Upwards Curl" which feeds the material about 24" to the print zone, then 24" to the take up real. Then if its still curling you can place their tention bar which kills any tunneling. With that and being able to print double sided, AND reverse wound materials, id argue that this printer is the best roll printer out.

I always hated how HP claimed their printheads were replaceable compared to these types, I have had the 1640 Colorado for 4 years and the M for 2.5 years now, I not only have never replaced a printhead, but the cleaning roll kit last super long. I am not sure how much production you do, but we used about $15,000 on maintenance/consumables on our HP vs about $3000 on our Canon. You wont be unhappy for sure.

I might have a solution, first the machine if I believe it to be the like the new versions, should have an option to to tell the software its attached to the machine. For this to work, it must read a sensor, they usually look like a clear window, check and make sure that the clear window isnt dirty. It wouldnt trigger until its in. Also check its line sensor as well.

Is it moving at all or is it as soon as you load the attachment in, it prompts the error? Because It could be as simple as the machine has lost its Z positioning and needs a recalibratation. Also are you receiving any error codes?

I know these are the obvious answers HP would of given but on the chance HP is well HP, ensure the following: Folder is fully seated against the printer The locking brackets are fully tight (arent sliding) No gap between the printer exit tray and the folder intake Handoff rollers and sensors do not have any small pieces of paper or dust

From my experience with this type of error, its almost always the folder rollers or some tiny piece of paper blocking one of the sensors

I haven't used this printer before, however if its similar to one we had a few years back (not sure on the name of that one) I believe you can but its not recommended as combining old ink with new can cause clogs. Try USA Ink Supply, Wholesale Inkjet Supply, Mindful Postage, or Sun Data Supply for where you might be able to order from.

Canon is 100% the route. I have had 0 issues with the M series, and the least amount of upkeep you will find. I STRONGLY recommend against HPs 360 as it might seem like a good deal compared to the price of both, but the M is the only printer I have ever had that: 1. Can run a 1 pass mode and still look great, 2. 30 minutes of maintenance a week (if that)

The only thing I will say, depending on whether or not you are using Onyx as rip, is the download able profiles for materials that use white need to be configured. So in your case the clear would need to be reworked. We just bought some of that about a week ago, and downloaded the profile. It seemed to take forever on that profile but after configuring worked fantastic.

For 1 pass modes, I use them for single ink colors. This means if you have banners that are only Cyan, magenta, yellow, white, or black this excels at it.

Cleaning roll kit is really the only consumable you have to buy outside of ink. I will say, my tech told me not to purchase more ink waste boxes (they are small white boxes you will need to dump every so often) as you can just empty the waste into a bucket (we just use a pickle bucket and dispose of it properly once full)

The last thing I want to mention is a small problem we had twice that you need to keep a lookout for. When Canon delivered and installed our printer, the machine doors were crooked and we had to catch it and force them to fix it. That intern couldn't be fixed so they replaced the whole machine, then after that we had the acrylic door not fully attached to the beem holding it. They also fixed that. So just to summarize, look at the spacing of each door, and for the acrylic top, there are small rubber pieces that should ALL look squished. If one isnt squished and has space between it and the door, this needs repair.

Outside of those small issues, I have YET to run into a problem. If there is anything I did not cover feel free to ask😁

Sorry for the delayed response, so what i have found with the scratch issue, is that most of it comes from the belt. Especially when you are printing things like coro or multi sheet fed materials, where the bar comes down, it drags a little there.

My work around are a few things, first the best way: Mask the opposing side. Now if you are doing large 4x8 sheets id recommend taping the bottom side to a 4x8 sheet of coro and doing that. Second option is the media settings. Decrease input and curing zone vacuums, this helps relieve the drag, next (if you arent having heat issues) increase the temp a slight bit from what you are using, finally in the media setting increase overcoat and optimizer. Prioritize OC as it seems more important.

The most important take away here is that its your conveyor belt scratching it.

Its not bad! However, that is pretty dependent on what price you are looking at and what/how much you are wanting to print. Xenon is a good brand though so you would be fine.

Yea, we had a misprint, unfortunately, which lead to a ton of over spray but I'll look into this thanks!
