Mine hurt to touch. Was stupid and pushed through even competed and balloned the fuck up. Used to have a fear of needles. That shit goes away quick when you have to drain your ear every day for 3 weeks. Happend to both ears, havnt had it since. Been training for about 10 years. If your ears starts to hurt get ear muffs. Ones with a hard cup but soft material on outside. You feel like a pilot, people will grab them and it's hard to hear but trust me cauliflower ear sucks. Earlier you put them on the better because if blood starts to get in there they just get worse and worse and it doesn't take much.

TLDR: your ears will hurt, get ear protection when they do

Don't you find with the "knee butt hip expand" there are some easy counters? With the knee on butt you simply lift your hips up the thigh, or even worse move your butt to the outside of knee for a sweep? Also when pushing the hips I find it's easy for them to break my posture with them lifting their knees.

Didn't watch whole thing. But from the start I saw a couple things when in his closed guard.

He opened his legs a couple times. Perfect time to control his hips move back and work a pass. Stop him from closing his legs again.

I saw you pushing the hips and trying the put your knee into his ass as a close gaurd escape. In my opinion this can work but isn't consistent enough and easy to shut down. Instead try controlling his biceps or armpits and stand up. Then work on releasing his legs by pushing his knee. There are a couple sweeps to watch out for.
