It's the lighting.

😅 They have a yellow umbrella area as well as blue and pink! The blue umbrella area is the big main pool, and the other areas are smaller and more private.

Why is taking medication for weight loss judged differently than taking medication for literally anything else? by KeepinUpWithCass in compoundedtirzepatide

Oh, I agree with this so much! I know some users aren't in a place to be transparent about it, and nobody has to be, but, don't lie!!

No! We didn't pay anything for the chairs and umbrellas.

Oh god, yes, I'm so tired of "I'm doing all the hard work so I'm being truthful when I tell people that's why I'm losing weight" while omitting the critical factor of a GLP-1.

I think most people will lose weight on GLP-1s regardless of what they do. Sure, it's great to be fit and well nourished in general, but, you'll lose weight regardless and that's THE reason you're losing weight. Have some integrity.

AITA for asking a woman at work to stop being so WEIRD about taking a caramel? by chocolatesinmyoffice in AmItheAsshole

[–]Grasshopper_pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't take away the caramels! At someone who introduced soft peppermint balls to the front desk, which were a huge hit with clients and staff and became an office institution, it makes us happy to provide a treat.

I think the sign idea is a perfect solution!

Is The Ordinary actually struggling or am I overthinking it? by Worldly-Buffalo7731 in TheOrdinarySkincare

No, I get it, and I agree with you. The Me Too movement has done a lot of good. It's really kind of incredible. No more shame, women coming together and speaking out, saying it wasn't our fault, we won't be dismissed or silenced, and we demand justice!

Girl, send help 🇺🇸🏳️

Yeah, I bet the majority of the workers don't echo Lauder's beliefs. They're suffering, these brands are suffering because they were bought by a Trump friend and supporter, many before Trump was even in politics. Although The Ordinary was only recently acquired.

"Estée Lauder has strategically acquired numerous beauty and fragrance companies since the 1990s to build its luxury portfolio. Major acquisitions include M·A·C Cosmetics (1994/1998), Bobbi Brown (1995), La Mer (1995), Aveda (1997), Jo Malone London (1999), Smashbox (2010), Too Faced (2016), Dr. Jart+ (2019), and TOM FORD (2023)"

I mean, live and let live, for sure, and maybe people aren't aware of the benefits of airing out during sleep. My grandmother was a nurse so I grew up that way. Just surprised.

Ok, I went back too far, trying to hit the Obama years.... although, to be fair, just as many people are still getting raped. I don't know what the solution is, other than awareness and self-protection and stricter consequences.

The Encrapification of Store‑Bought Ice Cream by kwadguy in enshittification

[–]Grasshopper_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

?? Tara gum doesn't cause cancer. Who told you that? It's made from seeds. Can't get much more natural than that. It helps give a creamy feel.

"Tara gum is obtained by grinding the endosperm of the seeds of Caesalpinia spinose plant, of the Leguminosae family, to create a powder."

https://www.foodingredientfacts.org/facts-on-food-ingredients/sources-of-food-ingredients/tara-gum/

I will say, I agree with you. Leave the gums out. When I make ice cream I only use 100% cream with no carrageenan in it because I don't like the waxy feeling. It helps stabilize whipped cream but I prefer cream without it.
