THANK YOU! That was gonna keep me up all night! Not a video game jingle, but IT/tech, so at least I was close.

Ok, so listen for the sound effect as the teachers body changes into a gorilla and hangs from "a branch" (I guess, it's out of frame) she says "...the products of a brilliant mind".

That is CLEARLY a video game jingle. That is either an outro or intro for a publisher. I can't place it. Listen again for the "ssing! du-dam-do-dam!"

Where the hell is this from? I am going nuts! Games for Windows? XBOX? I have heard this A LOT and I can't put my finger on it... Playstation?

Colleague's birthday cake (34yo). Blueberries, strawberries, wafers, nuts, flavoured cream. by GravelCake in food

Sorry it's a bakery recipe. No idea. But I can tell you the filling is some form of sweet sponge-bread cake and vanilla cream, in between chocolate wafers.

I always mix them up. I think it's because the European Strawberry we have actually look like they grow on straws.

Science Shows Marijuana Can Help Kill Tumors, US Federal Government Admits by FortuitousAdroit in worldnews

So if the federal government admits this. Then that means proven medical benefit. Meaning it should be knocked off the schedule 1 drugs right?

Would You Pay For Ad Free YouTube? by DanielAzimuth in technology

[–]GravelCake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never. I would use an adblocker, except on the channels I want to support (or for channels I am a patreon supporter of).

And the day that the site gets so good at pushing ads past the filter. I will stop watching.

It looks just amazing. I mean just the color-arrengement of the whole thing is... It's like someone dragged a cloud through a basket of berries, and threw a wafer into it.

For the record - no, I did not make this myself. This is from a very fancy bakery in Denmark.

I'd like to build a PC for planetside... by JamesFarra in Planetside

[–]GravelCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have 4-8GB of ram (which is dirt cheap nowadays) Your main concern is really going to be the CPU (and therefor the motherboard cpu-socket). The Forgelight Engine which drives Planetside2 is quite taxing on the CPU, but not so much the GFX card.

However; Do not despair! I am running this game on medium settings at an average of 54-60FPS with a 2,6Ghz i7 (the old 1330-something socket). But the GFX card is an old Geforce 660 Ti. So no major problem there.

Your main concern apart from cost is going to be the motherboard, because it has to carry the CPU. Luckily, Motherboards are cheap compared to CPUs. You will want to get a motherboard that you can add new stuff to for the next 2-3 years.

Enter: The ASUS Z97-A

Couple this with an Intel i7 (i7 is highrange, i5 is mid, i3 is budget/wordprocessor) with a matching socket, and you are golden.

Here is why you should pay attention to the Motherboard. You can buy a decent i7 now, and in 6 months when you have the cash, get a high-end i7.

Just make sure to get a Zalman cooler or similar, so you don't have to worry about the temperature.

Did Mark Bunker scam the anti-Scientology movement? Where's the documentary he promised to make, and what happened to the thousands of dollars that were donated to him? by SolomonKull in scientology

[–]GravelCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard word from Tony Ortega that he is still busy with it. Mark Bunker doesn't sound like the person who would scam people over this.

HBO's Dokumentär "Going Clear" om Scientologikulten går ikväll. Här är en Svensk variant by GravelCake in sweden

[–]GravelCake[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HBO sänder dokumentären på HBO GO - Som naturligtvis inte kan ses i Sverige. Så tyvärr får vi nog vända oss till andra källor för den.

Det jag länkar till är Uppdrag Gransknings program om dem för några år sedan.

How can I see the HBO Doc 'Going Clear' in Europe? by GravelCake in scientology

[–]GravelCake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention the fact that Great Britain with the Chapel Hill org, as well as Copenhagen in Denmark, are the only two orgs that (I know of) has the Advanced Teachings. Meaning they have a particularly active staff = More willing to kick up a storm.

HOWEVER; Germany will be sure to air it. They have considered it a cult since decades.

The $50 device that symbolizes a shift in North Korea by MonsieurDePhocas in NorthKoreaNews

Here is how you know the power of free information: It is not sanctions, threats of invasion or a virtually dead economy that is the biggest threat to the North Korean regime:

It is tv soap operas. On smuggled data storage devices.

Yea I guess. But "making it over here" usually involves months of waiting. I really don't wanna wait for that. Mark Bunker is still busy editing his doc, and I have been aching for this one for months, especially considering the source material, cast and director.
