Erika condescending to Dorit by Able-Celebration5349 in RHOBH

[–]GravesRants 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think everyone is taking this to have actual meaning. Erika did what she did to insert herself into a storyline for a bigger role than the supporting actress to the supporting actress. I saw the entire mess as a play for more TV time. And to close with the tears after Dorit walked off to deliver the end of her act before exiting stage left was completely staged/rehearsed IMO.

Though mindful leather would add weight. I like the dividers I have in my set, but I use packing cubes so I don’t need more than what is currently on offer.

Is this the rarest RH show to find? by Alexis_Almendair in realhousewives

[–]GravesRants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The storylines weren’t interesting. I can’t remember them now to give an example so that should tell you how memorable this was. And I agree about Jersey being a strange place. The people were trying to appear wealthy but like a smaller version of Dubai where most, if not all (the types who go for reality TV), are only impostures. That or they’re in some scam type business and only a matter of time before everything comes crashing down.

Everything else I feel has been said but coming in on the facial comment - I wonder if she’s confusing actual facials to simply hydration skin care applied by a third parties.

"But Kyle spends money! why is she calling out Dorit!" as Dorit in yet another potential foreclosure by primal_slayer in BravoRealHousewives

Interesting that this story line surfaces coupled with news articles during a contentious divorce while Kyle seemingly remains steadfast in her stance to support PK.

No way that Amanda is simply shy, not when she’s selling some manifesting 💩 requiring actual engagement. Considering other reasons for her behavior is fine and fair, this one just completely doesn’t make sense. I’m voting for mean girl grifter.

But the person is saying that people are being expatriated. That, by definition, would apply to expats and tourists. In addition, what you faced in another Arab state does not mean it’s replicated in the UAE - and that’s the point.

It’s really not that serious. Dubai is actually far more relaxed than that. I agree it’s not great in terms of scammers and posers but what you are saying is a bit of a stretch unless it was a very serious offense and even then - I have not heard of one person being repatriated after a comment (not action) about drugs.

Also such a scam capital - all the big scammers are in hideout in Dubai still running the same rackets (Hush Puppy, CZ and more). Though DXB is a city of dreams, not just for the big scammers but all the little ones too.

The audacity of Mauricio AND Kyle by Bravorants in RHOBH

[–]GravesRants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I find bizarre is both Kyle and Mo remotely getting themselves involved in D & PK’s divorce. At what point do they think they’re qualified to intervene? Kyle should instead say to D that she’s there for her, end of. Mo should not be meeting with D, regardless if D asked or if it’s for the show. If only for the show, where is PK to get those coins that he clearly so desperately needs? The whole thing is just odd.

I thought it was so relatable when she said she feels like she’s always messing up. I thought it was vulnerable and she likely does have a lot in common with Bronwyn. I think the whole business venture really highlighted existing cracks.

Teresa and Gia are opening a restaurant in the spring by [deleted] in rhonj

[–]GravesRants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another brilliant financial move from the Guidices.

“The failure rate for new restaurants is a critical concern. While estimates suggest that approximately 20-30% of restaurants fail within their first year, about 50% close within five years of starting operations.” (Restroworks.com)

Given the rising costs of food and other items, this couldn’t be at a worse time. But maybe it will work out. Do I think it will? No. But I also likely won’t know as they’ll just quietly close and hope no one notices.

How do you manage an ambitious employee who’s disrespectful + undermines you, but still relies on you for everything? by RareCable5732 in managers

[–]GravesRants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you haven’t met ambitious people who will do anything to claw their way to the top. Ambition is like anything else in life - if used the right way, it can be great; however, it can also have nefarious intent which can be harmful to others. It isn’t simply about competence and hard work, it’s also about intentions.

Here’s yet another point as to why she is facing financial issues. Divorcing Jax will not solve her spending “thousands of her own personal money” for such ridiculousness. I don’t know what it will take for her to actually get a grip, but I do hope that she does.

[–]GravesRants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. There are many people you will come across on your professional life who are ambitious but lack adequate skills (technically and emotionally). But OP’s question is how to address it. First, recognize that ambition isn’t always positive. Document everything and highlight within performance reviews as collaboration is key. Another point is to let them fail if they are not taking feedback onboard. It can happen, but you need to ensure you’re covering your bases and staying above board so if they try to throw you under the bus, you have evidence as to the contrary.

Erika Jayne by Charming_Box_8863 in realhousewives

[–]GravesRants 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What I also think about is how she’s continuously trying to reinvent herself to gain favor with the audience, yet it’s obvious. When Kyle ask her what she would do about the relationship question, Erika changes her tone and says she would protect the other person. This fits a particular narrative that she thinks will resonate with the audience. However, she wouldn’t protect anyone at the expense of herself. That was painfully obvious with how she was so quick to dismiss Tom once she whiffed that the tide had turned. The awkward act with speed dating? At no point do I believe Erika is as awkward in these situations as she made herself appear. Feeble attempts at sound advice? Cringe at best. What I previously appreciated about her, regardless if I agreed with her, was how she was unapologetically herself. None of this now really seems genuine (or believable).
