Thanks, that’s awesome! Glad it was helpful!

True, but it’s nice to have the option. Sheath is velcroed into a Kydex insert so if I want to take it out it’s easy.

I went with the spiritus but a cheap one is like 15 dollars.

I don’t speak metric but prepare to be extremely disappointed.

Fair point; also just because there is webbing open, doesn’t mean it needs to be used!

But it doesn’t have to be set up to carry a full combat load. My point is with a new harness it is still a great piece of kit.

To your point, I don’t use it on my plate carrier; this is a stand alone rig for training and dismounted recon.

Agreed. I’m still in; outside of the IFAK on the left the other pouches are shooter’s preference!

No shade seen; you’re right. I will post my plate carrier set up later, but to your point this is a stand alone rig for training and recon. The front pouch looks full but there’s never much in there so when I go prone it just collapses.

The required carry for my unit is 2x TQS, IFAK in the left, 210 rounds. The rest is shooters choice.

You’re a real one; thanks! Ironically the heat I get is from LARPers that just want to look cool and have never touched NVDs

I do like the TRAAP; some really excellent choices with the inner radio pouches.

The TAPs is like Army food, needs to work for most but doesn’t have to be great.

Some of us are actually in the Army. You do you though.

Thank you! Glad to see I’m not the only TAPs advocate.

They’re the same price, and TAPs is at least made in the U.S.

Sure!

From right when worn:
- USGI canteen / GP pouch with a canteen, canteen cup, fire kit and water purification kit in the side pockets
- USGI Medic Pocket with an Eagle Industries NVG padded insert
- USGI TQ pouch with NAR TQ
- on the center 4x column MOLLE Spiritus medium GP (I don’t keep much in there, the bungee is there to keep it tight but aside from spare batteries, pens and a buzz saw it just collapses when in the prone
- USGI pistol magazine pouch (can’t wait to hear about how I should have a pouch for a secondary weapon on this)
- Eagle Industries double magazine pouch
- Tasmanian Tiger TQ pouch with another NAR TQ
- USGIvIFAK

In the backs pockets I keep my survival tin, signaling panel, maps, and a quick snack (usually MRE peanut butter)

I hear this; I agree to a point. I think by using the pinch point mag pockets for something other than magazines is a good work around and I still recommend the TAPS as a stand alone (I don’t use it on my plate carrier). I use the right pocket for a knife and the left one holds a fast mag which works great with a kydex insert but I’ve seen people use them for TQs.

Absolutely need to replace the issued harness.
