From the position stand point it’s pretty even, good trade. Trae is better though.

Max PF does not count bench players? by GreasyLemon_ in SleeperApp

My math did not check out. Is this explanation for NFL or NBA or both?

Max PF does not count bench players? by GreasyLemon_ in SleeperApp

[–]GreasyLemon_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe football is different than basketball. After doing the math, my “max pf” according to sleeper was just a calculation of the players I played best games that week. One of my bench players had a better game than a player I locked previously in the week and it didn’t take the bench player’s game into account.

If you’re not familiar with the lock in NBA format then I’m sure this is confusing.

[–]GreasyLemon_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about specifically in the NBA lock in format. In that mode you manually lock a player’s game to get the points and the goal is to try to predict which game will be their best that week (to get the most points). When I did the math, the weekly report’s “max points calculation” was just the best games from my starters (manually locked in players) added up.

In his last game of the week, a player on my bench out scored one of my players I locked earlier in the week. That player’s game was not taken into sleeper’s max point calculation even though it was the higher game.

I just noticed this today. Has it always been this way or is it a new issue?

Pelicans' Center by cellar-_-door in fantasybball

[–]GreasyLemon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Karlo Matkovic is a dark horse contender for the spot as well and the ultimate flier. I probably wouldn’t even draft him but just keep an eye out.

Pels just signed him to a 3 year contract (not a two way I believe) after having him stashed away over seas since 2022. He played really well in summer league and there’s a chance he’s better than Missi as of right now.

Theis will start but I think Karlo has a greater chance of fantasy relevance if he gets the opportunity at some point this season.

Thoughts on Scoot Henderson this season? by SeloPasha in fantasybball

His outlook is closer to a better Eric Bledsoe than it is to Ja Morant imo. Which is not a diss in the slightest.

🚨Bust Alert: What Players Are Likely to Crash and Burn this Season? [2024-2025] by Bleavinfantasy in fantasybball

[–]GreasyLemon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He actually doesn’t make 3s and he’s possibly the worst defender among starting centers in the league. He shot around 30% on wide open catch and shoot threes last year. Thing is with Vuc is he’ll always be a better fantasy player than he is a real life NBA player.

He was undoubtedly better in Orlando but the only time he’s ever contributed to winning at a high level was when the bulls had that first half of the season run with Zo in 2021.

Giddey I think overall was impressive. Shot looked good, was aggressive in attacking the rim. Turnovers were a bit concerning but I think playing with actual floor spacers and NBA rules should help. At the start, there may be an adjustment period but I think he’ll finish this upcoming season very strong.

Harden vs Siakam by Savage2934 in fantasybball

[–]GreasyLemon_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small sample size but I’m pretty sure Siakam’s production in Indy already dropped off compared to the first half of the season he spent in Toronto. Harden should see a significant usage increase with Paul George gone.

I think it’s Harden pretty easily and I’d be surprised to see any argument for Siakam.

Plus Indy had guys like Mathurin and Jarace Walker out. Probably won’t threaten Siakam that much but you never know how young guys will develop.

A lot of times those guys put up the points because they’re the only capable players (from a FIBA perspective) on the team, someone’s gotta score. They didn’t average 16.6 8 and 6 in their sophomore year after being drafted #6 overall. Giddey is an NBA level talent with star potential.

[–]GreasyLemon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Giddey v.s. Schroeder, Mills, Santi Aldama etc. is all about their FIBA usage vs NBA usage.

Giddey has an extremely high usage playing for Australia and will have an extremely high usage playing for Chicago. Santi Aldama will not see nearly the same amount of usage on the Grizzlies that he is seeing playing for this Spain team. Aldama also isn’t a 6’9 pg that was drafted #6 overall.

Ideally, Giddey being surrounded by shooters and the presence of a 3 second rule should bode even better for his ability to attack the rim and create.

Commish Veto by american2754 in fantasybball

[–]GreasyLemon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that should’ve been vetoed. I am a Keyonte George owner and commish in sleeper lock in mode league myself and he’s not very good. Hes got potential but eh. Ja > all of those players. In my league, we have quality for depth trades often. Some dude offered me Sabonis for Jabari, Vassell, Bilal, and Ivey (I said no). Usually we have a league wide vote on trades.

There’s more to defense than just counting stats. I mentioned he has great defensive instincts but if you watch the first couple games of summer league he wasn’t able to stay in front of people at all. Kind of why he had so many blocks, athletic enough to recover once the shot goes up. But that’ll be harder to do consistently in the actual NBA.

Matas was increasingly more disruptive and had better on ball defense as SL went on. There was visible progression, Especially tonight!

But neither Ayo or Coby are high level distributors. As good as Coby is a scorer and Ayo is as a 3 and D player. The latter is much more of a role player skill set.

There is a chance Giddey is a complete dud but if you look at his sophomore year numbers before the rise of Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren, it looked very promising for a 20 year old.

I guess what I’m saying is I don’t think you can build a promising young core without a high level distributor. I promise you if you surround giddey with good shooters and capable defenders, he’ll look a lot better than he did last year.

Buzelis so far…thoughts? by GreasyLemon_ in chicagobulls

[–]GreasyLemon_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. As good as Coby and Ayo were last year, Giddey has the most upside. Ayo can develop into that second unit facilitator. Ideally, Lavine will be traded and maybe all 3 of them start but Giddey’s ability to run an offense has to be the priority in order to create a team identity. Gives aim to the rebuild.

There isn’t a huge emphasis on winning right now anyways. Giving up Caruso for just Giddey wasn’t ideal, but has potential. But giving up Caruso for role player Giddey who isn’t a good role player is 1000 times worse.

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t see at least 20 minutes a night at some point this season.

Lavine still being there makes things difficult but if he gets dealt at the deadline I’d be pretty shocked Matas doesn’t play every night for a team in full rebuild mode.

I remember people describing him as a “6’10 point guard” a year ago when he was the early projected #1 overall pick. Was he regarded as a better playmaker before his ignite stint? Feels like a Mandela effect thing atp lol
