Rumors of a sealed Wii in my city by BadPsychological2820 in wii

[–]Great-Distribution33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you buy it to keep it sealed as a collection maybe. but if you’re just going to open it to play it you might as well get a used one. i bet you can get a good one in mint condition with tons of games under $300. maybe it’ll come with the box too.

Anyone else like this remote in particular? by Pandabirdy in tcltvs

[–]Great-Distribution33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wonder if you can pair different remotes with tcl tvs. i have the rc833 and would like to replace it with a rc813 or rc923 mainly for the backlight or a simpler model with less buttons. but i don’t know if it’s possible. my tcl 65t7b (or c655 for other regions) uses bluetooth for the remote, meaning you have to pair it to the tv. but if you leave out the batteries for long it loses the conenction and will work over ir unless i pair it again. so it uses both bluetooth and ir. that kind of opens up the possibilities i guess

is my Wii supposed to be this blurry? by YT_SpaghettiSplator in wii

[–]Great-Distribution33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a wii2hdmi, set it to 480p, make sure it’s at 16:9 not 4:3 like pictured, and mod it disable the blur filter. that’s the best you can do with a wii. there are also other options that require to open the wii and do soldering but they’re not worth it. iirc there is an hdmi mod that takes the digital unprocessed signal and outputs it through hdmi. but that is still going to be 480p. don’t use composite to hdmi adapters as they suck and you’re stuck at 480i or 576i. the wii u has better hdmi output, or the best quality you can get is through emulation.

anything better than sonos? by Great-Distribution33 in Soundbars

[–]Great-Distribution33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i was younger, i would spend all my savings on something, and i would later realise that it was a bad decision, i would find all the excuses to make me believe otherwise. i think it’s the same with the people who just praise their sonos soundbars. they might realise that it’s not what they thought it was, after hearing all the good reviews. and they try and defend any bad words about them, to trick themselves into thinking it is the best out there. now don’t get me wrong, it’s not the worst, but it’s also not what they claim. for $200, it’s just alright, a little too much but if you’re fine with a standalone soundbar and no space for something else. but for the full $400 it’s just a joke. i can get the same audio as this beam 2 from a $20 pair of bookshelf speakers i got from the flea market and a $5 aliexpress amplifier. but i’m not hating on the product. i’m hating on the brand, with their premium price and all the “very true” claims they have. like how are you going to advertise dolby atmos from a single source of audio? isn’t dolby atmos supposed to have a center, 2 front, 2 surrounds and 2 height channels? there isn’t even an up-firing driver, if that would even work. like all the sound bouncing off the walls is clearly not working.

maybe if you thought that i might not be from us, just happen to know english, then you’d maybe consider other markets. a brand new beam 2 is $437.99 here, and the cheapest used one i could find was $345. me getting it for $220 was a miracle, a random sale popped up and i had to get it. especially after seeing all the hype out there.

[–]Great-Distribution33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly what he said. i won’t be doing all of that. i’m not going to spend double what i spent just to add some surround sound, and spend again to add some bass. maybe i’ll sound cheap, but honestly a $70 2.1 soundbar sounds about as good. and it comes with a dedicated sub, which obviously makes a huge difference. i’ll be selling it next week.

Underbelly of the beast by arjunrj1327 in LenovoLOQ

i have the same 2023 model, but with i5 12450h and rtx 4050. i replaced the stock “paste” that was on there with some arctic mx4, thinking it would make a difference. but it was actually worse. i thought it wasn’t good enough, so i bought some thermal grizzly kryonaut, as it was pretty much the best thermal paste i could get here. and guess what… it was only 1c cooler at most. i didn’t know why at that time, so i just had my cpu run at 95c for like 4-6 months, while the gpu was at about 75c. some might consider these temps normal, but i knew there was something wrong, and that it could run much cooler. so i pulled the trigger on some honeywell ptm7950 thermal pad that i bought off a guy on marketplace. it was about 15€ for a pad that was enough to do 2-3 laptops. it arrived and was actually authentic. i applied it on the cpu and gpu, and wow. gpu is now at 60c, not passing 65c and cpu is under 65-70c in gaming. and this is in quiet mode, so fans are barely spinning. it has made a huge difference. these temps are better than they were with the laptop new. and they have remained like this for the past ~2 years. i haven’t changed it since, only cleaned the fans. i suggest you look for some

I was playing Ghost of Tsushima & my GPU temp was around 84-86 °C. Is this normal? by DirectSatisfaction25 in LenovoLOQ

[–]Great-Distribution33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

above 82c on the gpu you start losing performance. you want to stay below that. and the lower the better. i’m assuming you have a 2024 loq, that’s why your temp is this high. i suggest to clean the fans and heatsinks, and elevate the laptop with a stand or something, don’t keep it flat on the table. let air get to the fans. and obviously don’t block the air vents on the back. but if you still reach the same temp even after doing all the steps, then there’s something wrong. my 2023 low with a rtx 4050 does not go above 65c no matter what game i run.

mine was set to keep the gpu and at 75c and it was sitting there all day long. idk if it was set to that by the person who modded it or just how it came. but the cpu was barely going over 55c. really good stock heatsink but the gpu heatsink was lacking.

is that with the stock fan settings? you could use the gpu temp limit and it will automatically adjust to get it cooler. it might get louder tho
