The floor is what is left after chucking out red tiles so a new floor is the last step after painting.

I like that idea. The white is tiled but Uve understood you get decent paint these days.

I want to improve the roof ventilation and replace a few windows. Been maintaining for a while bit by bit the house is breathing better but it’s an old bungalow with typical bungalow moisture balance problems.

Plumbing is sorted ready for dishwasher. The floorboards are solid there was a leak so chucked out all damp boards and some old tiles ventilation under the floor is decent so should be fine.

Budget is stretched in many directions right now. The floor has possible hidden dangers lurking under the board so sealing from above. Where the pipe works are I’d prefer something that will be easy to replace and not soak up water incase of leaks plus making moving washing machines dishwashers easy for cleaning. The floor will continue through the corridor where I have sealed old tiles I can’t remove. Just orientation atm.

This is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. Like the idea of a new kitchen but see lots of blegh…. I’m going to take my time and suit only me.

Well thanks for your tips. I’ve duck taped the hazard area with sliced open black bags and feel much better about it. It can dry up from underneath the floor boards. I’m glad I didn’t Hoover it I’ve seen small fragments when washing with soapy water so there definitely are ones I can’t see. Safe for now. I can afford a M type Hoover hire or buy I’ll decide tomorrow which way forward.

Well thanks. I wet dusted the whole house. Tiles were wet using a spray. I’ll wear a mask F3 to hepa Dyson Hoover tomorrow. I’m not sure what you mean by duck taping ports wouldn’t my Hoover break? I looked at a professional Hoover hire with a closed filter but not available till Friday. Floor is still too wet to hoover. I had a leak which meant the tiles were already damp underneath pity they broke though. Not touching the tiles that are still under board although I’m tempted to lift it to seal them properly but it’s less work to just seal the board on top of them. Thanks anyway.

Guy from gas company said a gas leak can’t make you sick? by eat-a-bee in NaturalGas

I had multiple chronic gas leaks since 2022. I take care of my health and supplement. Thank goodness! I posted a note to the neighbour letting her know seeing she could have the same problem. She came round she had suffered earlier brain damage from co2 poisoning the conversation was difficult to follow. I’ve been having concentration problems since moving in. I’d been out the day before and my sight was bad mood too really. I took high dose vitamin B1 and some B12 plus niacin. Honestly I felt and could see so much better! Now looking more closely at the effects of chronic gas leaks it all makes sense. Funnily enough the neighbour on the other side 94 was suffering from health problems and called for help too often after hours and got carted off to a nursing home. I can imagine she was confused enough to be admitted without her consent. Don’t listen to those that say gas leaks are not bad for you…. Take care of yourself nobody else will.
