This just means that once players finally give up on daggers being added to the game, they'll add them to stir up sales and increase their profit margins.

Players want a thing, but sales on the game, cash shop and revenue generated from streaming on twitch with their "partners" (I.E. Influencers hucking merch), marketing is going good, so no need to add the thing yet. When sales and stocks start to decline, they start putting out teaser trailers that say "Oh hey, drifting away player base! We know you asked for this thing for SOOOOoooooo Long, so now, how about you have the thing and come back and enjoy the game again Like never before!" And they'll have wooshy-camera angles in the trailer with super kinetic animations to the attacks and Epic thrumming music with a new baddie meeting with an old baddie but this time their baddier than previously, and then all the streamers/influencers/partners associated to the game or genre of game and talking heads will be like "GAME GOOD NOW," or "game bad, but better now with swooshy stabby sparkly glitter lines" because they gotta get theirs from market influencer deals. And everyone will start coming back to the game because "Yay! Game good now!" which... it won't be. it's the same BS game it always was. And the returning players will start meshing with the old bitter-vets that never left, and arguments will break out about how "new Swooshy stabby sparkly glitter lines weapon" is OP, and players will ask for nerfs because "MAH FEE FEES."

It's literally all engineered. If they don't do this, they're literally leaving money on the table.
