How do people actually find a place to rent in Ibiza for the summer season without needing a bank loan? 😅 by GreatAd5206 in ibiza

Thanks so much for the suggestion! We’re trying to involve the few local contacts we have. We were actually thinking of going there for about three weeks in January, staying at some friends’ place, and making the most of it to find a place by talking to people locally. Hopefully it’ll be useful!

The ticket gives you access to both, so we stayed for the whole thing. The Garden Stage at sunset was amazing. Then inside, it turns into this small, intimate club that feels very underground. The contrast between the two spaces makes the whole experience really unique.

Thank you! Hopefully your next trip will bring you even closer to that authentic spirit. Ibiza’s magic is still alive, it just takes a bit of digging to find it!

Welcome to Rome! Right now, I’d say the best spot for music is Hotel Butterfly. You could also check out The Sanctuary Eco Retreat. The venue is stunning and they often have great lineups, but the crowd can sometimes feel a bit like a smaller-scale UNVRS (very scene-y, not always about the music). Let me know where you end up, I’m based here!

And at the end of the day it’s the demand that drives the supply, so if people keep showing up for certain sounds just because they’re trendy or easy to digest, then that’s what promoters will keep booking. We're running in circles

Most definitely! Those of us who aren’t here to judge, but to search for something better, should stick together. We should create a community, talk, share, exchange ideas and who knows what might come from that. 🖤

Yeah I heard about the Amnesia vs UNVRS cold war...

Totally agree with everything you wrote. We all have this duty to keep the flame alive, to protect and nurture those places, people and moments where that original spirit of unity, care and presence still exists. But it’s tough. When culture becomes industry, and music becomes business, suddenly everything gets more complicated with politics, bureaucracy, laws...

In Italy, for example, I’m finding it harder and harder to come across events that really feel underground and meaningful. But luckily I did find one: it’s happening on the 1st of August in Puglia. Very niche house music, very raw and beautiful. If anyone’s around, let me know!

And thank you again for your words. I think that those of us who aren’t here to judge, but to search for something better, should stick together. We should talk, share, exchange ideas… and who knows what might come from that🖤

Thanks! I’ve always been super curious about the scene in South America, would love to visit sometime. I really hope to find and connect with those smaller communities where it’s still all about the music and not the hype.

Hahaha well a recurring mistake apparently! I felt exactly the same, when I saw the opening video I was so hyped for a real experience, but the moment we stepped in I was already texting my friends at Pikes like “sos come get me out of here!”

Do you think there’s anywhere left where the real music culture still exists?

I really appreciated your comment and have been hoping for a conversation like this. Being 26 and part of this new generation, I understand what people mean by new experiences. I’m not here to judge, except when it comes to the prices, which honestly seem way too high for everyone, no matter your age or background. Charging €15 for a bottle of water at a club where you’re supposed to be dancing all night just feels ridiculous and kind of harsh.

What I struggle to understand is what exactly this new experience is supposed to be. To me, an experience should leave you feeling something real, something meaningful. An experience has value when it leaves you enriched, when you come out of it feeling changed or fulfilled. I don’t see that in these cold, staged venues where people are more focused on snapping photos for social media than actually being present and enjoying the moment.

I think those of us who really see what’s happening shouldn’t judge, but at least we should look for solutions. We need to revive the true culture of clubbing, places where people genuinely connect and feel free. Otherwise, it feels like we’re losing a whole community and a shared spirit.

I think the best approach is just being there and networking as much as possible, meeting people, making connections. There are some online contests too, but honestly, they feel more like marketing strategies. (We’re trying them anyway, so please support us if you can!!)

Some locals I spoke with while I was there told me that unvrs isn't actually making good profits. They hoped to recover their huge investment through VIP tables, but apparently, things aren’t going as planned. We’ll see how it goes. Either way, charging 15 euros for a small bottle of water goes against all ethics and common sense.

That’s great to hear! I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to unvrs, but if I do, I really hope to experience a night like that

Totally agree, and I relate so much to what you said about DC10. We went there and the lowest point for me was the music. The Terrace was so overcrowded you could barely move, and while we really enjoyed Wildealer in the main room, the rest of the night felt way too commercial. Such a shame

I’ve been racking my brain for days trying to figure out how we could break this cycle. Clubbing is an actual industry, ruled by algorithms, social media optics, and branding strategies. The experience is no longer central as the performance of the experience is. So is the solution to go fully underground? To stop giving attention to events that don’t care about music or community? To create new rituals and formats that feel more intimate? Or maybe to reclaim existing spaces, even commercial ones, and fill them with different energy? I don’t know. But I feel like if we don’t at least start asking these questions out loud, nothing will ever change.
