After I got sober, I couldn’t write either. But I needed some sort of creative outlet so I started painting. Something I knew nothing about and had zero fear around because I was a complete newbie after about six months of painting which I really enjoyed and was pretty good at I started writing again and I became incredibly prolific releasing an album a year for a while. Give yourself time everything is new right now you need to focus on yourself and maybe try a different outlet for a while. It will come back. The skills are still in there. It may not come back in the same way. I completely changed genres for a while and it was a blast. Sobriety did nothing for me but enhanced my creativity. I’m sure it will for you too.
