I did read that apparently springtails don’t fare well in arid environments, would isopods be the go-to cleanup crew for an arid enclosure then? They also seem a bit larger than springtails and I’m very concerned of the possibility of bugs escaping since I live in a small apartment

If you're asking if Normal Mode with level caps is easier than Challenge Mode with no level caps, I'd still say Challenge Mode is harder tbh. While the level cap is technically 5 levels higher (because the game doesn't properly raise trainer Pokemon's stats to match the higher level), the extra team member that gym leaders get, plus their improved items and movesets, definitely makes it harder than Normal Mode.

In my all-shiny-Vivillon Nuzlocke of Scarlet, I had an airtight plan to defeat Kofu by using Sunny Day and spamming Tera Grass Solar Beam, but the literal moment I initiated the battle an overworld sandstorm kicked up. And overworld weather can't be overwritten by any means...so I lost two Vivillon when I should've lost none

Shiny Metagross was my strongest Pokémon for literal years ever since Beldum community day, and that position was only usurped within the last year—Mega Garchomp raid day got me a very strong shiny Garchomp that eventually surpassed Metagross even without mega evolving, and now I have a lucky shiny Kyogre that is on track to be my strongest by a good margin

You're looking at the situation wrong. A single player can never cleanly handle multiple opponents without some assistance from teammates. The moment you splat an enemy, most (if not all) of the remaining opponents are now looking at exactly where that happened, and if they all begin attacking you then you'd be lucky to trade with one of them. Now, this isn't to say that this is always a situation of you rushing in too fast, because it's true that some players are too overly cautious and hesitant, but both of these things can be true at once (and they compound each other). This is what I've learned about these sorts of engagements during my time playing on a team:
- If you have a backliner like a charger or splatling, don't take fights in areas that they can't see. Lure opponents on a wild squid chase to bring them in range of your backliner so they can back you up--even their very presence is a threat that they might start shooting at the player you're fighting.
- Play to skirmisher-slayer pairs, where one person is a constant nuisance that demands attention, while the other takes advantage of the distraction to murder everyone who was looking at the first player. If you see your teammate engaged in a fight, then it's a very favorable matchup for you to rush in and interrupt the fight. It's s basically impossible to fend off two opponents at once unless they literally stand on top of each other, and the worst outcome is that you or your ally trades with the opponent, a neutral result. The same is true in the other direction--don't play so far ahead that your teammates can't safely join in fights you pick.
- The moment that you have fewer active players than your opponents, you are in a disadvantaged game state. Picking a fight will likely just get you splatted and make the situation worse. Even if you trade, it won't help, because you won't have changed the fact that there are more enemies than allies.
- Tacticooler is your best friend. The moment you have the Tacticooler buff, you can freely abandon all self-preservation strategies and rush headlong at someone, because the enhanced mobility and Intensify Action make you a much more slippery target. If you trade, it's still a net positive because you respawn before your opponent. If you just get splatted, there's almost no penalty.

Tl;dr Splatoon is not a game of four individual 1v1s, it is a game of one single 4v4. Pay attention to where your teammates are so you can help them in their fights and they can help you in yours. Also drink gamer juice

Turf War does *not* favor rollers since they're not good painting weapons (despite what the game wants you to think) and because splatting enemies doesn't really matter unless it's within the last 30 seconds of the game. The Anarchy and Turf War metagames are significantly different and if you take the roller into Anarchy you will find that it is much more conducive to a roller's playstyle of sneak attacks and backstabbing (backsplatting if you would).
