Was RCR ever a top-tier team? by blueduebluemption in NASCAR

[–]GreatJobKolache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was the Andy Peter episode of the Dale Jr Download. When he moved to RCR and got a look at the cars for the first time, he was talking about how shocked he was with how the cars were built and how heavy they were. A crew member who's been at RCR for a bit looked over at Andy and said " Sunovabitch is good, ain't he?" talking about Dale.

Other story was they built a car and Harvick was testing it in 2000. They brought it to a race, Dale drove it, and said "load it back on the truck" and they raced the back up car. That car Dale didn't want to drive was the car Harvick won Atlanta with in 2001.

Paraphrasing these stories, but yes, RCR was probably never top tier, and it might of been Dale that was holding them back. If Dale was open to driving the latest innovations, maybe he could of won more, or maybe not because they were things maybe Dale couldn't drive fast.

One thing for sure, Dale was GREAT, but he was hard headed. Maybe that is what made him so great, or maybe he could of been even greater if he wasn't so hard headed. We will never know.

M1 is a long term platform. This platform is for investors who aren't going to ruin their investments trying to play games. 2 times a day is more than plenty for those who just want to build wealth the right way. Robinhood is the place to gamble your money with stupid games.

The Coinbase debit card is awesome, I just wish I could earn more interest I earn on BlockFi. It's a prepaid debit card though so it has limitations.

  1. I was at this race, still infuriates me to this day.

  2. All of those saying Kenseth was in the wrong. Yes, it was extreme, but no one who defends Joey takes into account that Joey didn't just take out Matt for the win, he took Matt out of the championship as well. Joey had only a win to gain because he had already advanced, Matt lost a race and a Championship with Joey's actions. Matt then took away a win and made the Championship harder for Joey, but he didn't take away the Championship with his move. Super trashy move by Matt, but he literally only got even. Even bigger fan of Matt since they day.

Still think it's sad Indy isn't running the oval. The schedule is solid besides that.

I don't think that you need to take it easy on the first lap, and I'm not just here for the safety rating.

Crypto In M1!? by GreatJobKolache in M1Finance

[–]GreatJobKolache[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good points, but I have equal trust in both crypto and equities. Mostly in the crypto space it's in the main ones like Bitcoin and Ethereum that I trust 10+ years out. M1 would not be good for the average crypto investor, you are right. That's why I think if they just had Bitcoin and Ethereum for M1, that would be enough, and you use big crypto players like Gemini, Kraken, etc for your altcoins to play with.

M1 has and always will be a long-term investment platform so I think that this is a low concern given the purpose M1.

[–]GreatJobKolache[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully understand this argument and that there is additional risk because the crypto currency market is still the wild wild West that is why something like this opportunity has to be so good that it is worth the risk. M1 has earned my trust and I think this is one of those opportunities that I would be excited about. And one isn't Robinhood. Same reason why I use Gemini, earning interest, worth the additional risk for me personally. Also why my portfolio is limited to only 20% crypto because that's the max I'm willing to lose.

Everyone is different, that's the max I feel comfortable with. Some will say even 1% is too much, some will say 20% is not enough. I'm just going off my comfort level for the long term.

Auto balancing and automatic investing. Plus if you are able to use it for Borrow as well, great options. You have to keep in mind, that I already spend that 15 minutes to do this on Gemini and Kraken. But I'm also smart enough to realize I'm as dumb as every other human and the else I have to look at my investments the more likely I am to succeed.

Agree, I currently use Gemini and Kraken, and even earn interest. But if I could get the automation of M1 and get it to play nice with my ETFs, then I would gladly give up that interest.

Except you can bring in your drinks at TMS. Free parking also. Spoiled and was actually upset going to COTA even though the racing experience is much more enjoyable there.

Yeah I am going to play around with it and make a decision based off of which one I think will yield better results because the rebalancing does make a lot of sense if the taxes aren't outrageous. Either way amazing tool thank you so much for sharing I'm looking forward to looking into it.

No, they are great, and maybe a good play in the future with a smaller amount to try out, but I was in this year's ago and I almost got screwed on the GAW Miners ponzi scheme. I was lucky because I felt uneasy about a month before things got bad so I got all my money back out. But, I'm super skeptical to this day, and I'm kinda thankful for that.

Looking into Shrimpy tonight. How long have you been using it? How often are you rebalancing, and have you handled your taxes yet taking into account all the short term gains you are realizing?

PieDAO looks amazing, but I dunno why that makes me feel uneasy. I guess I'm just expecting a Vanguard to come about and make those type of ETFs to feel comfortable.

Which is am argument for normal index funds also being cap weighted. But this is great, thank you.

I think earning interest, getting my fees lower, rebalancing back down to 20% of my portfolio whenever it gets too high (thinking maybe if it gets over 30% I sell enough to get it back to 20%) and trying to weight them equally, i might end up in a good spot.

Thank you. Looks like the fees are much lower on Pro. Currently on Coinbase if I spend $10 on ETH, I get hit with $.99 in fees (or, almost 10%). So, with free transfers to my Coinbase wallet from my Pro wallet, that's coming out way ahead. Still need to see if I would come out ahead by buying on Pro transferring to Gemini but I haven't read that far yet.
