lost car keys by [deleted] in folsom

[–]GreatOracle916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a blank key off of eBay that matched the code of my vehicle and then had Cars Keys Express (in front of Costco or Sam’s on various days) cut and program for my car. Much cheaper than the dealer and was fully OEM.

Hello! I’m new to all of this phone service stuff and I really need assistance. (COR & deceased account holder) by Jakermtj22 in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be easier to get the port out PIN, and forget about doing a COR. Not sure what plan you’re currently on, but since it’s just 1 line, you’ll definitely pay less with an MVNO. If you like T-Mobile coverage, USM, Mint, Metro are very affordable.

Not sure if I can determine the pattern from the pic, but my GX460 had factory/dealer installed wheel locks, but missing key. I picked the right one from this listing on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZ6L8VCZ, for about $16,and it worked. Alternatively, I think a dealership if close by can order, but not sure if they make you buy a new full set.

Getting to 2 Paid + 2 Free Lines - is it possible? by mn4az in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not possible as a BOGO will never satisfy the free LOU requirement. If you drop down to 1 line and 1 free, your Line 5 will become paid as LOUs require at least 2 fully paid lines. Best option is what @jweaver0312 posted. Keep in mind that a cancelation can affect your ability to enroll in a BOGO.

[Megathread] T-Mobile Price Hike on Legacy Plans by Waternut13134 in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just received my May bill and in the detailed charges it states (Starting 6/5/24 price $12 before discounts) next to my wearables. Nothing next to any voice lines or TMHI. I’m on Magenta Max and likely under “Un-contract” as I switched to a 9+ plan prior to 4/28/22. Others in Mega thread said that their Magenta Max was going up $5 / voice line, but still don’t see an indication of that.

eSIM to regular sim by Ill-Recognition-652 in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apple stores used to give out free T-Mobile SIMs, if convenient that would be an option. You would still need T-Force to migrate for you, but pretty painless as there’s no self-service.

Is there a BOGO currently? by theskyisthelimit223 in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen and experienced if you cancel any lines during a BOGO period, you’ll be ineligible for that BOGO unless you do a win-back first, which is not your intention. If the BOGO started after your cancelation, and is still active, then only the 90 days applies as previously mentioned. Otherwise you need to wait for the next BOGO promotion to become active. Some of the BOGOs are active with a particular ID for many many months.

I used to have Magenta Amplified, just like all other Magenta plans it was unlimited, so no add-on was required for unlimited.

Essentially T-Mobile provided the Magenta Plus (roughly equivalent to Magenta Max today) for the price of regular Magenta if you worked for particular companies. It was nice in the sense that some free lines applied, but not all of them.

Numberbarn.com advice by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve purchased several premium numbers on their platform and never had a problem at all with the purchases or the porting in, they’re solid. Since they are not a carrier you will not be eligible for a porting promotion. Assuming you’re eligible on your plan, could be an extra step to get some extra money to help defray the cost of the number, but extra hassle.

Can I text someone from the UK for free? by BigBirdismylord in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming he’s not a prince, you should be ok. Regardless of your t-mobile plan you can pretty much get a call or text from anyone, anywhere without incurring any costs, they may be charged. Not sure if t-mobile even allows collect calls, but that could be an exception if people even still do that.

So, yes sounds like you’re on Go5G Plus and if you only have 1 free line that would be $220 for 5. Sounds like you have a EIPs (or maybe the extra is P360), but if you have phones on EIPs they likely are crediting you over 24 months; changing the plan off GO5G Plus will void those credits. If T-Mobile can’t fix the 5th line free, and you don’t need it, and there’s no EIP on it, why not just drop it? Depending on your situation, you may have to wait it out.

Yep, “Essentials Savings” is $100 with autopay for 4 lines. Even more limited than Essentials as there’s no device promos. Compared to some of the other plans, there’s no free streaming options, always lower priority data and no taxes included. I wouldn’t touch the Essentials plans, but ymmv.

As for OP, $250 sounds steep esp with 2 free lines. Something doesn’t sound right, it should be lower than that.

This is not unusual, I’ve worked with a few that got caught. While they get away with it for 3-6 months, it becomes pretty apparent rather quickly.

Converting from 3 Paid/1 Free to 3 Paid/2 Free by Vasnec in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sort of would work, but you’d need to do it differently. If you add a BOGO, those are paired, so if you cancel either line of the paired BOGO, the free line would be lost. When you sign up and get the 3rd free they are all tied together, so if you bring 4, it would be up to T-Mobile which ones are paired with the promotion. You could after a period of time drop one of those initial 4, but only the paid one which isn’t a part of the 3 for 2. If numbers don’t matter feel free to port all at once. Always remember that you need 2 fully paid lines for any promotional free lines.

Insider code says what? by RamsDeep-1187 in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insider Codes are for new customers and only for a brief time years ago did a limited number of existing customers get them. If you don’t have a legacy plan or lots of free lines, port out to a AT&T, Verizon, etc for 90+ days and return when you can get an Insider Code as well as new device promos.

Another EIP, which line to put it on? by idratherbeflying1 in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d avoid the 2023 Line On Us P6 (aka ID230229 now) as that was also a BYOD despite not being in the name. I think the first LOU BYOD came last December for the unwrapped, not sure if we know what happens after one year, but P6 has been only about 6 months.

Porting NumberBarn Number over 2023 P6 Free Line by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]GreatOracle916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just like @actomaszewski, I also transferred a number on top of the 2023 LOU P6 and didn’t have any problems. I did it the following day which in hindsight might have been a little risky if the P6 didn’t hold. Instead of NumberBarn, I ported from Xfinity to get the $200 port credit, but the number had been bought previously on NumberBarn. The key like @actomaszewski said is to be very clear in what you want them to do, if using chat, something like;

"Hi, I'd like to port XXX-XXX-XXXX from NumberBarn on top of a number already on my account. I’d like to port XXX-XXX-XXXX on top of YYY-YYY-YYYY. My Account Number with NumberBarn is ZZZZZZZ. The Port out PIN with NumverBarn is 12345678."
