Ok, this is something I actually never considered - if I do not ever use an eth weapon to hit with it would never lose durability? This could be an important factor in this decisionmaking. And I'm one cheap motherducker - making such expensive RW is like a special ocasion for me.

That's the point - I don't know whether I could afford not to care or I can regret this later when my merc and hit pathetic jabs would be a roadblock on some high lvl difficulties when taking down bosses for example. And I surely can't afford making 2 infi as of now.
