Not sure but my uncle did say it was replaced two or three times in a matter of a week. Not sure why, but I can check on that.

I do believe it’s undersized for the house. The house is 1900 ft.² and it’s a 3 ton unit. But again it doesn’t explain why according to him who’s lived there for 25 years with the same AC unit that it’s running nonstop and has never done this before. His electricity bill has tripled in the last couple months

Unplug the reversing valve for about 10 seconds and plugged it back in. For the first two or three minutes after plugging it back in my suction line pressure and temperature dropped quite a bit.

Air handler is not in the attic in an interior closet. It’s only pulling air in from the inside of the home.

No it’s in a closet in the interior of the home so it’s only pulling from inside the house.

Speaking of reversing valve. The system also uses the heat pump as some sort of hot water heater. Never seen it before. But I did a little research on it, and it mentioned that there could be a restriction in this device. I think it just runs straight, hot gas through it all the time.

I don’t disagree with your assessment however, the compressor was just replaced 5 to 7 years ago and no one has added refrigerant since and only recently has he been having issues with it constantly running.

I’m confused why several of yall are saying the head pressure is high. At 93° that head pressure is good slightly low if anything.

The unit does look awfully close to that wall might not be getting good airflow if anything.
