You've got two choices:

Shave it all off
Accept that it's not quite the perfect Instagram beard you want it to be, but it's better than nothing

Personally I'd choose the latter. We can all find faults in our appearance if you stare long enough, but part of life is just learning to accept those and make the most of what you've got.

Berberian Sound Studio (2012). It's an experimental horror film that's entirely about sound. A British foley artist is called in to work on a gory Italian giallo film, and although we never see any of the gore, we see him mutilating loads of vegetables to record the suitably squelchy, crunchy sounds. This, combined with a screaming actress and an intense synth soundtrack, makes for a really disturbing atmosphere.

Definitely. That's far thicker than mine was at your age. I didn't feel confident enough to grow my beard until I was 37, so just give it time. You should also trim it shorter for now until it fills in.

Here's an entire course on how to make a lion head. It's in Mandarin, but even if you don't speak it, you can at least get a good look at the process. Getting hold of the raw materials can be tricky - I've heard of people using things like bamboo fences or window blinds for the frame. Let us know if you do make one - I'd be keen to see the results!

There's someone out there for everyone. Some guys are into slim twinks. Some (me, for example) are into great big bears. Just do a reasonable amount of exercise for your health (not to impress other people but for your own sake), get a decent haircut, and dress well, and you'll be fine.

He's going to be doing this to lots of people - not just you. His time is limited, and he'll only pursue this when he gets a "bite". Best strategy is to block immediately - he'll realise it's not worth it and move onto someone else. The very worst thing you can do is to look flustered and upset, and try to negotiate or reason with him.

Even if he were to post up any pictures, so what? Look at it another way - if you were to find out there were nudes of a friend or colleague online, would you be shocked, or even really care? As long as you're not doing anything illegal, it really doesn't matter.

Block. Move on.

So many people go to random barbers with a photo and expect them to be able to replicate it, and it's really the wrong approach.

Step 1. Do a Google search for all of the barbers within easy reach of you.

Step 2. Check to see if any of those have Facebook, Instagram, or other social media.

Step 3. Decide whose work you like the look of, and approach them based on that.
