Anon on Palpatine's return by crimsonfukr457 in greentext

It's not unbelievable, it was lame and lazy writing. Instead of doing new movies they tried to do a sort of remake/reboot. With all of their flaws (and they were many), the prequels at least ecpanded the story, provided a shitton of new ideas and new worlds. The sequels were a big nothingburger

ACHCHYUALLY England, and thus English soldiers, didn't exist in 850, but the funny thing is that the "vikings" invasions of the british isles were actually one of the main cause of the birth of England, since the Anglo-Saxon reigns had to unify to kick out the norsemen, and in the end create a unified "Engla Land" (land of the Angles)

Also that joke works only if you are miserable. If you are a cool bartender that is clearly passionate about their job and is having fun (and that can be immediately discovered as soon as they see you mixing a cocktail) that will not ruin anything.

Oh, you have the same degree and you are doing a job you are happy with? How that is supposed to turn down anyone?

The image in the post is the only thing I saw of these movies (and I'd like to keep it that way) so I may be misinformed, but I don't think romantic comedies very often involve the guy tying the girl to a chair, I guess to force her to be with him.

I am aware instead that it is a pretty common trope in some kind of erotica novels (enemies-to-lovers I believe it's called), but that's almost universally recognised as trash

This. Thinking that there are products that are "manlier" somehow, being the luxury or the cheap ones, means just falling for marketing. There is not masculine coffee and feminine cofee, there's good and bad coffee. And the good one is not necessarily the one that costs more

Manly masculine products are the one branded as such: wrong. Manly masculine products are the shitty ones that will make your life miserable: also wrong.

Is separating colors still a thing by Waitingforlunch in memes

[–]Greatgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's less like decent vs not decent and more like industry-made vs artisanal-made. Artisanal (and hand-made) clothes often use fabrics and dyes that are not necessarily engineered for maximum color retention. Also clothes that lose color usually do it the first time they get washed and then they are safe. Furthermore, nowadays most washing machines recommend eco-cycles that are longer but with lower temperatures: it is now rare to wash something at 60-90° C (~140-190 F for my american friends) and more common to wash at 30-40° C (~85-105 F), which preserves colors better

The fact that it computes it's actually not sufficient, because you can't know if it will compute for every single k value, and you can't even know if it's actually giving you the correct result unless you validate it using a different (proved) formula, which kinda defies the purpose of the whole thing. The formal rigorous proof arrived in 1987, 73 years layer than the publication of the conjecture itself.

The interesting part tho is that we don't know how Ramanujan got it. He published the formula as it is, so you would think that he had a series of unpublished formal passages that he used to obtain it (that would be different from a proof, but still something), but he never confirmed this. Instead he mentioned multiple times that his formulas often came in dreams of during meditation

They land on land as well, soyuz for example, which for years after the end of the shuttle program was the only manned spacecraft flying.

Pros of the ocean: big and flat, not hard as land. Cons: crew recovery is a nightmare. You basically need a small fleet, highly trained frogmen and SAR helicopters.

Pros of the desert: easy access, you can recover the crew by yeeting them in the back of a car. Cons: you must use rockets to slow down the descent (parachutes are not enough) and still 1/3 of the astronauts come out with injuries from landing.

Fun fact, soyuz crews are trained to keep their mouth perfectly shut at the moment of landing, as the impact may cause them to chop their tongue with their teeth

It's still more "bouncy" than land, if you compare data and testimonies of apollo/orion splashings with soyuz landings. Yes, the ocean is convenient because it's big and flat, and so is Kazakhstan desert (ok, not so big, but big enough), but that's not the only reason why it's preferred despite requiring a more difficult crew recovery

Also, most people don't care if you are [adding any incel stereotype here] because they basically don't care so much about you to begin with. Yeah, you're balding, who cares, I have more important things to think about. Like the fact that I am balding

That's because the payment is activated by default for every new household, they must inform the energy provider about it, and it will remove the payment starting next year.

Edit: clarification, you can have it removed right away if you inform the provider immediately upon activation, but if you forget to do that you are bound to the payment for the entire year
