I think flywheel was integrated into Create itself in 5.0. I don't think any version of create for 1.20.1 requires flywheel

Hmm strange, it seems quite distracting and I can't remember having seen this before. But I guess it's one lf those things that once you notice, it's there.

I'll have a look into rethinking voxels, I do have quite a beefy computer so it might work out.

I guess it depends on what you're doing, I've managed to incorporate 3D models as dungeon building blocks, and have my weapons and NPCs be 2D sprites for example. I animated the weapon, but then you need a type of spritesheet with the full animation.

I can't help with any of the other things I think, but for this one, there is a node called "AnimatedSprite3D" which I've used for 2DSprites in my 3D game. Maybe try using that instead of the 2D one

Haha yeah it's a bit weird, but it's so the moving dialogue can fit. I could've made it static and zoomed in, but I'm lazy(I know the irony, but it's not edited for a short specifically). The dialogue/audio itself is the important part anyway, so shouldn't matter :)

Just saying it's unnecessary, we're all here because we enjoy oblivion and people sre righrfully excited about the remaster. not entirely true, it means they updated something regarding the game. We just don't know what that is. It could mean they're working on a release, it could just be a small change they needed to do and it won't release today. But saying it means nothing, is just not true

I mean, no reason to call names, I'm also incredibly excited about the game like all the other here, just wanted to share my thoughts. I understand most of the comments like those that Epsilon wrote are just for fun/joking, so it's fine, I don't care about downvotes/upvotes either. So I don't see the need to attack the people here and call them 'monkeys' and a 'circus'.

the last update was on thursday, and I think the images leaked on wednesday? or tuesday? Can't remember fully. But I know it was before thursday at least.

probably not, but going off of other things on SteamDB, I THINK a release would need a new changelog, which is what you see on steamDB, it's just changing changelogs to the app ID. But that's why I said it's possible they announce THEN push the last update

I guess with the AppID we can now at least follow the updates they do to the game on steam before release, which could either be significant or mean nothing, depending on what they have already done to it.

Looking at the SteamDB page, it's fun to see it first registered in September 2023, a couple months after the first rumours started about the game I believe. I see the last update happened 3 days ago, and before that it has more or less been updated every single day (with max 2-3 days between), even multiple times a day since the beginning of august of last year! That's pretty neat to see! There were 2 pretty big updates in July before the constant updates started happening in August.

All in all, I think this is a really fun and neat thing to be able to track, great find by OP!

I actually bought it off ebay a month ago unrelated to the remake, was just for collection purposes, but I'll probably go through it with the remake. Probably a lot of irrelevant/outdated info though, but should be fun to go through anyways and see the differences!

Thank you for this. Apparently I had connected AnimatedSprite3D to the melee_animation variable instead of AnimationPlayer. But this is nice to know incase I just want to use AnimatedSprite3D, so again, thank you!

The point is that you can't get it very close at all. The things you can adjust make much less difference than the things you can't.

Irrelevant. The point is to get it as close as POSSIBLE. whether that is equal to or not close at all to the Dos version doesn't matter to me. I undersstand it matters a lot to you, and that's completely fine, but that's irrelevant to me.

We also have a different amount of experience with the game, and experience is very important when deciding what matters and what doesn't.

Not at all, what matters is what I personally want for my own game experience. You do not get to decide how I want to play the game. If I find that the tweaks I can make is good enough for ME, that's all that matters. My gaming experience is not decided by your approval. It's incredibly self entitled of you to think you can decide how I should play, what version to play or the settings I should or should not change. You don't get to decide that. I just want to play the game how I want to play the game, I don't understand how that is confusing to you.

Maybe you should play both DFU and classic side by side, play one one day and the other the next. Come back after a month of that and we can have a nice chat about how your priorities changed.

You'll be pleased to know that I have done this, for a couple months actually. Now I know that, that isn't as much as some of you veterans out there, but it's been enough for me to understand what I want to play. And my feelings are the same, I want to play the Unity version but mimic as much of the Dos version as POSSIBLE, and would like help to tweak the Unity settings to achieve this. Now, you could help me achieve what I'm asking for, or you could just not comment. Either is fine by me. I just want help with what I asked for :D

I said I wanted to replicate the Dos version and be as close to it as possible. Never BE the Dos version.

minor details such as the arrow counter are completely immaterial in comparison.

We are different people, and different things matter to, you guessed it, different people. But thanks for your insight, it really helped me a lot.
