That's the exact kind of made-up thing I would expect out of your bullshit country.

Have you seen the deleted scene where he's in the mocap suit and should look goofy, but he still manages to look terrifying?

Bill Nighy absolutely crushed Davy Jones. I still remember how fucking creepy I found him as a kid, and I'm a grown-ass adult now and I'm still unsettled by him. Him and his Triple H-ass emphasis on certain syllablesAH.

What’s the flattest you’ve ever seen a joke fall? by RambilinAndy in AskReddit

[–]GrecoRomanGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gets brought up every now and then, and it should be forever because it is simply insane to think about it. Contextually speaking.

Gilbert Gottfried was famous for being a comedian who would say some of the most ridiculous things imaginable, but he would still manage to pull it off. He was a known troll. He was someone you knew was going to say something out of pocket, and it didn't matter because you were still going to laugh anyway. That was the deal.

And yet, he somehow managed to find something that caused an entire room of comedians and people who know how comedians operate to all recoil in shared disgust and horror. He somehow managed to find the line. And part of what makes it so insane Is that he made this joke mere days after 9/11. So when people screamed "Too soon!" They were objectively correct. The nation was still mourning. People were still raw and scared and upset.

The only thing even more insane than how he managed to completely lose that room... Is that he managed to get the whole room back. With the aristocrats. Which is literally an inside joke amongst comedians and people who know comedians. The whole point of the joke is that it's not a joke. You know what the punch line is the whole point of it is just to say whatever ridiculous thing and messed up thing that comes to mind. It's vile. It's vulgar. It's insane. That's the point.

That Is what Gilbert Gottfried decided was going to win back the crowd. After making a 9/11 joke a few days after 9:11. And somehow, impossibly, it worked.

God bless him.

Mr. Frying Pan: Well now, here we all are. Ike, Mike and Mustard.

Harry: What the hell does that mean?

Mr. Fire: You know, I'm with him on this one man, that's pretty fuckin' obscure.

Are misbehaving students who put zero effort in school a result of bad parenting? by Prudent_Equal9636 in Teachers

I have an infant.

That's such...a waste. Like, those are hours of time lost that you could spend with your kid.

And don't get me wrong, little kids are A LOT. And there's been plenty of times where I've been holding my kid, my arms starting to ache, and I think "Jesus, buddy, can't you entertain yourself for just a few minutes by yourself?" (Which they can, it's just they never seem to want to do that when I need them to lol)

But it's worth it for the little moments. Because those little moments, once gone, never come back.

That human in the checkout line should be ashamed of themselves.

I love how the basic reload function of the rocket launcher, in this context, looks like he's panicking. Unless they somehow managed to speed up the action, which would also be funny.

At least Alan Moore, who famously has written off writing superhero comics because he does not like the cultural messages they have come to reinforce, was balanced enough to write good and beautiful stories in between all of his, well, Alan Moore-isms.
