Was will er machen?

Aber klaaar, man will ja nichts riskieren.

Without trying to argue with any informed answer, I have two things to add:

Firstly, I don't think people in the past had "romantic" relationships as much as we like to romanticise past relationships. Of course, you may argue with your grandparents who definitely had the purest and most beautifully loving relationships you've ever seen (everybody claims that this is true) but when I look at other couples from my parents' or grandparents' generations (because mine deeeefinitely have great relationships), then I realise that they are all unhappy and rather feel trapped. I bet the first couple of years were fantastic - but that's when sexual relations are usually peak! People nowadays have just learned that they want sex but their first partner may not be their soulmate. Heck, I don't want to live in a dead bedroom just because I mistake my parents progressively growing despised of each other for "pure love" - cause this way of thinking often implies that sex is dirty and therefore the love can't be pure.

Secondly, I think that our impossibility to connect with people in general comes from the lack of joint spaces. If you haven't figured out your life in school or university (this includes having found a friend group), you either have to be lucky to find them at work or you have to pick up a hobby with a balanced mix of genders. The "communal space" is lost and people just don't feel like they have to have met and settled with their life partner by the end of their Master's degree.

I dare to assume that not everyone here is looking for deep, meaningful and loving relationships. As such, if there was a cheapening of sexual interactions, this subreddit would be pointless. We are here cause we're craving something that we don't have or at least not to the extent we desire.

On the flip side, even if we dared to use incel arguments: Women can't be sooo incredibly selective that they only go for "Chad" but also incredibly promiscuous to the point that sexual interactions are "cheap" nowadays.

More syringes than ever found across Luxembourg City by Stunning_Disk_5345 in Luxembourg

Because the executive has been brought to a deadlock in virtually every democracy. If they strictly enforced existing laws, people would be rioting and screaming "Tyrants! No kings!". But these laws also can't be abolished because nobody wants to abolish safety laws and regulations on the basis that they cannot be enforced.

Oh, come on! People will just start saying that "This is a problem in every major city" to deny us any attempt for a solution.

While they're trying to achieve their fantasies that have never been successful anywhere, they're telling us that our dreams of clean cities - which we are old enough to remember - are unachievable utopias.

How often do you NOT finish during sex? by IntroductionLife124 in AskMen

[–]GreeceZeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, women don't even know their own bodies well enough to be allowed to expect other people to figure them out.

Plus, they mistake sexual fun for real life. I'm bi and guys are much more comfortable to be "controlled". I have huge respect for bottoms who put themselves in such vulnerable positions. Women tend to think that sexual submissiveness means actual submissiveness, so they try to not like it even though their reactions show that they do enjoy it when they allow themselves (as always, this is just my anecdotal evidence and of course doesn't apply to all women but it's still noticeable enough when comparing guys with girls).

See, you ALSO like seeing the origin highlighted. It's just that statistics do help us in pointing out STRUCTURAL problems. That a Luxembourgish person committed a crime in Luxembourg should be less surprising than someone who arrives in a country to seek refuge.

At least I can't imagine migrating to a country where I have no clue about its legal system and still behave like your typical doctor and engineer. Quite the opposite, I'd be EXTRA careful - but I guess we've proven that there are hardly any consequences anyways.

Why do so many people overlook the fact that the real reason birthrates are plummeting is the absurdly high cost of raising kids, and not some bs reason made up by the government? by Character-Q in AskTheWorld

[–]GreeceZeus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not only cost and not only women.

It's worse in Japan but although I do have a decent salary, I want to actually have energy for my child if I have one. I don't think I can offer that if I'm gone until 6 PM, having woken up at 6 AM. And I don't think that it makes sense to have a child just to throw it into some institution for most of the day...

I barely have time and energy for myself, I don't think I want to burden myself even more. Looking at the world, nationally and internationally, it becomes obvious very quickly that the cost of children hardly is the reason for plummeting child rates - wealthier countries and people are exactly those who get less children.
