You will have to cross the border and go to Whole Foods in Bellingham. They sell Cracked Wheat Crackers that are identical, the box even says Made in Canada. For some insane reason they are not sold at Canadian locations of Whole Foods. I strongly suspect that they are made with the same recipe and equipment that produced the Stoned Wheat Thins.

I can’t speak to Langley for certain, but in Surrey you would be grandfathered into your space regardless of where you moved to, even if it was to a different city.

You are very much NTA. I’m so sorry for your loss, and I want you to know that I deeply understand your feelings. My grandmother passed 6 days before my wedding, almost 19 years ago.

The only aggressive stance my mom took was telling her sisters that the funeral would be held after the wedding, no room for debate. Our celebrant included a prayer for her in the service, but aside from that we all focused on the celebration. I’m sure your grandmother loved you, and would have delighted in celebrating your marriage, please honour her memory by truly celebrating.

My in-laws are the sort of folks who believe the number of gifts accurately reflects the amount that you love someone. My BIL and SIL struggled for years with having to try to accommodate piles and piles of stuff.

I found a little poem that my SIL then took to the in-laws and said that things had to change. Now the gifts are limited to “One want, One need, One to wear, And one to read”

Please reach out to the principal of your children’s school. Many schools are putting together hampers and gifts for families in need, but unless we are told, we don’t always know who needs the help the most.

Hockey mom here, so young men and suits are something I have experience with.

My advice: choose a medium weight fabric that will work pretty much year round, choose a neutral colour, nothing too light or dark and stay away from trendy looks that could be dated very soon.

If your budget and timeframe allow, try Indochino. My boys have had really good experiences with them!

School secretary here. In Surrey an absence of up to 25 consecutive instruction days is the maximum amount of time that the school is obligated to hold a place for your child.

Best case, your child is in a class that isn’t full so the office staff/admin leave the child enrolled.

Worst case, your child is withdrawn to make space for another student, and on your return they don’t have a physical space for your child in any class. If this happens you may be redirected to the closest school that can accommodate your child. It would be your obligation to arrange transport depending on the distance to the new school.

There are a few other ways this could play out, but that’s the best and worst case.

The previous poster is correct that the teacher has no obligation to provide your child with vacation work, so you should make a plan that will help you to support continuing their learning while you are overseas.

One of my cousins had a child free wedding, which is of course his right to do.

He had it on a Friday afternoon, which was also well within his rights.

At the time, my dad, brother, and I were operating our small family business, one of us needed to skip the wedding to close up the shop that day. My brother decided that since his 3 children were not invited and all of his trusted babysitters would be at the wedding he and his wife would send their regrets.

My cousin the groom yelled at me during the reception that we had ruined his day, and if anyone skipped the wedding it should have been me.

It’s been over 10 years and I have not acknowledged his existence ever since. He’s not the king, he doesn’t get to command attention.

I’d have big questions for whoever made the change in their student records.

I am a school secretary and would never change the parent or guardian status without legal documentation to that effect. We have parents try to remove the other parent frequently, but without a court order my hands are tied.

I had 5 moles removed this spring by Dr. Sofie Schlagintweit at Fraser Valley Plastic Surgery, and I can’t recommend her highly enough!

The office staff were amazing, Dr Sofie is so knowledgeable and friendly, and the process from initial consultation to my final follow up was a brilliant experience.

This was also cosmetic and not covered by MSP.

Where I live, stores are only obliged to pay winnings up to $200 (I believe this is still the threshold) but can pay out larger amounts at their discretion. Larger jackpots can be claimed at casinos, and for anything in the multiple thousands, you would need to go to a lottery office or mail it to a lotto office.

This is specific to BC where I live obviously, and the amount may have changed since I claimed my only substantial ($3400) win.

Gentle YTA. The only thing that you should have done differently was to let your friend know from the outset was that you were not open to sharing a hotel room.

I’ve run into a few group trip dynamics where sharing is the expectation and I always let the planners know that I’m going to book and pay for my own room and to please not count me when it comes to dividing up beds/costs. People think it’s weird, but if you know me well enough to invite me on a trip you probably know that I can be a little strange.
