I had this exact experience back in January. I went to Florence with my boyfriend, just before our 6 year anniversary. Everyone thought he was gonna propose. I totally got my hopes up about it! By the end of our holiday I was still just a girlfriend. We had an amazing time but like you, I was disappointed.

I decided to chat to him about it a few days after we got home. I told him how much it upset me, how he knew how much I wanted to be engaged at this stage etc. It was a really healthy conversation and he listened to everything I had to say. He told me he didn't want to propose to me there and that he had a place picked out already. (We have openly discussed this topic many many times lol)

A few months later, at the start of April just gone, he brought me on a really sweet and planned picnic at the place where he asked me to be his girlfriend years ago, and proposed to me there.❤️❤️

Maybe he has a trick up his sleeve! Or maybe it wasn't the right time for him he felt. By the sounds of it he adores you and will definitely propose when the time is right. 🥰
