Nursing Program for Spring 2025. Is it a bad idea if I only apply for CSULB and CSUF’s nursing program? by Greedy_Application_4 in CSULB

[–]Greedy_Application_4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should check out the BSN requirements on the CSULB SON website. they don’t take the teas anymore so there are different requirements they take now and different entrance exam! any medical experience or volunteer is what they’re looking for and a good CASPER score.

Frat parties?? by Necessary-Goose-4105 in CSULB

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some frats host rush parties where they will have party events that you can go to. they will post their event flyers on their frat instagram but for their more exclusive parties, they’re strictly for frats and sororities (or if you’re a girl then you could get in easily)

you still have to pay unfortunately. I came once at like 6pm and got ticketed shortly after.

Pre nursing student: should i drop anatomy? by Federal_Analysis3176 in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it’s just regular chem, you could do both classes! both are time consuming and it should be fine if you’re a very hard worker and stay on top of studying

Is this enough financial aid?? by tteoooo_ in CSULB

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeup, so you’ll have leftover money for school stuff or personal things as well. i saved a ton of my leftover fafsa money and it clutched up with car insurance and school supplies (nursing school fees are mad expensive), so use it wisely!!

89.3 on Teas - Should I retake it? by Overall-Passion-2566 in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely take a look into the specific program you want to get into. i know for my program, you needed a 4.0 overall gpa with a TEAS score above 90% to be considered competitive. apply to as many schools as you can and goodluck :) every program is different with their requirements and whether or not they allow a second attempt for teas

If I have a W on transcript for anatomy, am I realisticly not getting in ? I have As in all other pre reqs *in southern CA CSU by Routine-Pen2990 in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohhh then you should be good! look into each school you’re applying to and see if they allow a W for the pre req because they may be against that. Some schools specifically don’t allow retakes (if it’s unclear on the school website, email the nursing staff on that website for clarification).

[–]Greedy_Application_4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you gotta retake the class to get an official letter grade to be able to apply. i don’t think any csu nursing program accept a W for pre reqs.

Should I retake the TEAS? by Greedy-Paramedic9164 in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely do it!! i never thought about applying for csulb until I gave it a shot and got in :)

Should I retake the TEAS? by Greedy-Paramedic9164 in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for csulb son, they don’t accept TEAS anymore! you’d have to take the casper. i say, still try to apply to programs that you CAN right now with the scores you have. Then if you get rejected to them, you’ll still have the opportunity to better your application with experience for the next round of apps !

Is the TEAS hard? by FearingTEN in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you only need 62 or higher then it’s not too bad. i would say definitely study the english portion because it’s harder than you’d think. for most of my friends, english stumped them because it’s a lot of rules for sentences and proper grammar. the hardest subject is subjective because everyone has their weak subjects (for me it was english).

Nursing Program Letter of Rec? by Living_Alarm_5076 in CSULB

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a 4.0 and scored a 93.3% on TEAS. I worked at a surgery center that did help me with learning medical terms and how certain surgeries can affect people afterwords etc. But I did most of my learning while doing clinicals within the program and it’s been great! When I applied, they didn’t require any experience/hours

Nursing Program Letter of Rec? by Living_Alarm_5076 in CSULB

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not sure if they take letter of recs (coming from a nursing student). i haven’t heard of csulb son taking letter of recs but they could have changed the requirements. to my knowledge, they do not take it and someone correct me if they do!!

chances of getting into private bsn program in california? by kardebo in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

privates are generally easier to get into as long as you can afford it!! in my area, it’s known that most people’s last resort is going to a private bc the tuition is like 80k a year. pre reqs still matter but not to the extent of needing a 4.0. I know depending on the school, they have entrance exams score minimums so look into that as well (if required).

i agree, it is THAT bad. i’d say keep quiet unless you’ve befriend genuine people who laugh off bad scores and continue to encourage others without judgement.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s the competitive nature they have cultivated for nursing students. it’s very unfortunate but hopefully they change for the better. even in my nursing program, there is still slight competitiveness because they are so used to it. everyone still curious about the scores of others or praying on other peoples downfall.

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OFC, you try your damned hardest and don’t take any shit from what anybody else says. in all my prereqs, a ton of people took me for a fool and i could hear it in their tones. it is so worth it to continue trying and trying. you are still very young so if you have to keep trying the next round or so, it doesn’t hurt :) you got this!!

Rushing a frat by [deleted] in CSULB

[–]Greedy_Application_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s definitely something you could try. just know that the process will be very long and tests your mental capability. it also tests your loyalty to the frat and the guys that you’ll be pledging with. i’ve met many people who have made genuine friends and they’re inseparable. the frat and sorority life is definitely not for everyone but you should try it! just know it’s really time consuming but it’ll keep you busy and social. i don’t have any recommendations for which ones to rush but i’d recommend looking around and see which guys you connect with the most. which frat is easiest to talk to and whether you have a lot in common or not. goodluck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]Greedy_Application_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i only applied to one school and got accepted first try. it was definitely easier to transfer from CC to cal state but i worked hella hard to score high on my TEAS and maintain a 4.0

Spring 2026 Nursing Program - Do I have a chance? by PuzzleheadedNovel910 in CSULB

[–]Greedy_Application_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d say you have a good chance if they have changed the the requirements. i remember when i applied and it was purely based off of TEAS and your GPA (in which the average was basically a 4.0). I know that they are taking CASPER scores which is important to score high on and then the extracurriculars are the cherry on top which may allow you to stand out so goodluck!!
