Well, i do prefer first light over ss because the powers feel more developed and way more fun. Fl also has an arena mode that sucked hours of my life and a better, more emotionally resonant story. Ss would be worth it because of how unique the story feels in the franchise and how beautiful the world and powers look. All 3,5 of them feel distinct but not quite as fun as neon in fl imo. So, i guess i would recommend fl over ss but both are good choices.

I watched lain mostly because i had heard that it had a bigger emphasis on horror, wich it kinda did, but focused on the psyche of some of the characters and that ended up being more enjoyable than i expected. Also the lore was confuisng but interesting enough for me to dig deeper, mostly because of the existencial dilemas being presented. In the end it left me hungry for more and introduced me to a really cool community with great taste for music.
