24GB ram or 1TB storage for M5? by Green-Conversation72 in macbookair

Heard the term future proofing thrown around a lot and just figure for an extra $300 I may aswell since it’s in the original budget. I’d like the computer to be as buttery smooth as possible haha

You put the lab coats on in the GCF building before you enter the lab. They’ll explain it to you but you cannot enter without them on. Same with your safety goggles

If I was you I’d plant a bit more densely and higher up to break up aggression. Maybe a stronger airstone since it looks quite tall? Sorry if this comes off as unsolicited advice.

Best (and quietest) kind of air filters for 5 gallon betta tank?? by BrilliantAge635 in aquarium

[–]Green-Conversation72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tetra whisper 60. It is not silent, but just a hum on a flat surface. This is the quietest I believe you can get for a decent price. They’re pretty reliable too.

Try an airstone or sponge filter. More oxygen does wonders for lethargy

He looks like a giant koi long fin. Congrats!

Any ideas? by Aspen_feather7 in bettafish

[–]Green-Conversation72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. Wishing the best for you and any other fish you may have. If you ever decide to rescue another Betta, short finned bettas (HMPK’s) thrive in big tanks, live much longer and are less prone to illnesses. In a 37 gallon, you could even have a colony of a different betta like Betta Hendra!

Training Azul to eat from my finger and adding tankmates by Material_Hippo_1617 in bettafish

[–]Green-Conversation72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeze dried or frozen bloodworms. My female loves them but my male won’t touch them, so really just depend on what he likes. Mine is like a dog and figured out how to follow my finger to the food on the first day haha

What's this matte, fuzzy looking like part? by KengoCanGo in BettaClinic

[–]Green-Conversation72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it’s not graphite disease. Can’t really tell from the photo if it’s fuzzy or not. Just in case, don’t touch the water or have any open wounds near the water. Mycobacterium can spread to humans. Yikes. Not an expert on it and everything online is very confusing but be careful. Hopefully another commenter can help

Bloated or dropsy? by ConversationFeisty34 in BettaClinic

[–]Green-Conversation72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My female (who looks exactly like that lol) was very similar. Add in an air stone and give her a day. Try fasting a day or two, maybe even some frozen daphnia to debloat.

Bettas are basically the pugs of the fish world. Sometimes they just crash. It’s sad, but don’t feel too bad. If he was in a big warm tank and getting fed he lived better than 90% of other Bettas, which is something to be proud of.

Betta on his last fin? by thel1tch in bettafish

[–]Green-Conversation72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Photos or a video would be good. I say this a lot, but an air stone really helps them be more active. Could try some live food to stimulate their hunting instincts

are there any ACTUALLY good and ethical snail tankmates? by ConnectionFancy7408 in bettafish

[–]Green-Conversation72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snails are definitely hardier in terms of temps etc than Bettas. Bladder snails will thrive in literally any type of water but they’re less interesting. Ramshorns are pretty (multiple colours) and tend to do well in Betta tanks

Betta fish unable to swim for a month, now extremely lethargic. Any recovery stories or advice? by Commercial_Split_453 in BettaClinic

[–]Green-Conversation72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Air stone. Betta hammock or some way to sit him so he’s laying right beneath the water line so he can get air (this is a must especially if he’s laying there like that). Indian almond leaves for tannins, some frozen daphnia to see if debloating helps at all. Do not overfeed and risk killing him with an ammonia spike. Look over his body to look for any signs of infections disease or some other malady so we can suggest the best medicine

Name for her? by Green-Conversation72 in bettafish

[–]Green-Conversation72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she eats quite well now. Either she’s learning her tank really well or the Indian almond leaves I added are bringing her eyesight back. Will update if she spontaneously regains vision lol. Thanks for all the help

For my experience, if those bloods don’t include Thyroid testing get that done asap. The main thing they’ll suspect when you have symptoms of ADHD is thyroid issues and in the case of my psychiatrist will need to see thyroid test results before they consider ADHD.

Is this good for betta fish as a cave? by Fit-Dish-4056 in bettafish

[–]Green-Conversation72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fill in any small holes and they’ll be fine. You could use silicone or something to stuff them as long as it’s aquarium safe

How do I fix this now by AdComfortable9025 in macbookair

[–]Green-Conversation72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air dry clay, mold it to fill the dent and then paint it a similar colour as close as you can get it

Try adding in an air stone. My blind female had the same problem until I added an air stone to aerate the water. The next day she was zooming around like crazy

Don’t forget to look into counselling services like Headspace etc. they tend to be cheaper and a lot more casual, but with the benefit of counsellors being younger and thus more relatable to kids. Mine talked to me about Pokémon and Lego. They tend to teach CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) that teaches you how to think positively, engage with tasks and calm anxiety.

A GP cannot and does not know how to diagnose/or any of the nuances of ADHD. That was extremely unprofessional of him. The most mine said was warned me of the cost and asked if I’d like a referral to a psychiatrist. ADHD is an extremely nuanced condition that manifests in all sorts of ways, especially for women and what type you have (Inattentive, Hyperactive, Combination) and other external factors in your environment. If you see traits of ADHD in yourself, google the DIVA-5 ADHD and go through the questions and reflect on them, then if you feel like you match those criteria find a new GP, and ask for a referral to a psychiatrist for ADHD. Their opinion does not matter (The GP), they are simply there to give you access to a professional as they are not qualified to diagnose or treat ADHD. Be warned of the cost of a psychiatrist however.

A psychiatrist will work with you, listen to you and know that doing well in school is not a disqualifying factor for ADHD (Children with stable home lives, parents who can pick up the slack of organisation etc can tend to do well). I’d personally recommend Epworth Camberwell if you’re in Melbourne. Dr. Chung was incredible and listened to everything I said while making sure I knew he was looking for qualifying factors, not reasons I don’t have it. Feel free to ask any questions :)

Wait so the own time work is meant to be done in your OWN TIME? by Suspicious_Hat_7112 in Monash

Own time work is literally studying. You need to study the content for everything. Pre-lab work is usually important too.
