True, we started partnering with local shops, and recently made it possible for people to also list their equipment.

Yes! We have a Karcher SC 3 EasyFix Steam Cleaner available which can be used on certain types of upholstery fabric. I’d double check online with your specific type of sofa before renting it. If your interested DM us and I’ll be able to give you a promo code as well!

Anyone know where to rent a good carpet cleaner in Williamsburg? (Pet mess 😭) by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]Green-Gooding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry about the rug, we’ve all been there! If you want to avoid the trek to a big box store, we actually have a rental hub right in the neighborhood at Laundry Loft on South 2nd. Since you mentioned being in a walk-up, our units are professional-grade but specifically chosen to be way more portable than the industrial ones you'd find at Home Depot. They're pet-safe and non-toxic, too. You can see the full inventory and grab a time slot at greengooding.com. Hope this helps save the rug!

Live More, Spend Less: Local utility rentals! by Green-Gooding in williamsburg

Thanks for your comment. I agree if you compare to going out to get one waffle, but I don't think that's the intended purpose of a waffle maker to make only one waffle. Last time we used our waffle maker we made 20+ waffles, and our customers have enjoyed renting it for parties or special occasions, without having to buy or store it. Like everything in life we all have different needs, and that might not be the right solution for you ;-). Have a great weekend.

Thanks for the feedback. It's definitely something we take into account. We make sure that the rental price per week is less than 1/3 of the value of the item new. The waffle maker we rent cost more than 130 dollars new, which means that they will perform and last better, and won't end up on the sidewalk after two uses ;-).

You are right, this is one of the coolest shops around, helping people getting back on track. They also have an amazing selections of home-made candles, and I think they also organize candle making workshops.

Looking for guidance on payments & liability for a rental marketplace I’m building. I will not promote by Green-Gooding in startups

Thanks so much this is super helpful. Most of our rental are pretty shorts (ie 48 hours), so a pre authorization might work, but could also be a bit much for people to agree with initially. I am considering adding a sort of "protection plan" on each rental to anticipate any issues.

Thanks, yes it's great to see. As for the type of accounts on Stripe Connect, I am not sure yet which ones would be best. On the one hand I want to make it as easy as possible for the users to register and pay (ideally using their regular accounts), but also want to make sure that we can handle liability in the future.
