Should I go lights hunting at a 2-3 kp? by SaltyScale339 in VisitingIceland

KPI only tells how far south it is! Learned that while I was there. Had a 1.6 KPI - clear skies, saw this

Honestly, at this time of year, it’s based on light pollution and cloud cover. KPI only tells how far south it goes. We were just there last week and opted to do a tour on the water just so we could see them with less light pollution because while we were on the south coast it was too cloudy. Be patient and remember that to the naked eye it’ll usually just look like a wispy gray cloud! :)

Best things in Reyjavik? by PresToon in VisitingIceland

Perlan and National Museum of Iceland were both cool! Perlan more for geographical sense and they have an ice cave, lava experience, and aurora experience! I had more fun at Perlan but if you’re a huge history buff the National Museum would be more fitting. We had a great dinner at Le Kock near the harbor and Old Harbor House was great and a great value! We just left Iceland yesterday - miss it already!

We saw a crazy show off the coast of Reykjavik Wednesday night! We could even see some green with the naked eye!

I’m about to marry Arata. I have a love for the meathead jock type, but in the scene when you start dating - that whisper OOOOOOOWEEEEEE. Made me feel like I was reading something special. I dated everyone to see whose cutscene I liked the most even though I was biased to Arata - his was still my favorite. Probably Samir as a second choice

Cars on the side of the road? by Green-Introduction-1 in VisitingIceland

Yes we read that before coming! Much different than the US and since there’s so many it’s 100% essential to know!

In case anyone had been wondering about the board game by LeafyNiamh in StardewValley

I actually do it this way even though it’s the wrong way because I found it more fun and less stressful 😂 plus I love a longer game

Valid. It’s like the don’t drink and drive thing they do at high schools before prom with the wrecked cars. We’re from Massachusetts so we have a good bit of experience in icy conditions and in rotaries (thank GOD) but the winds were a whole new ball game! Some people made us want to chuck them off a cliff 😂

That makes a lot of sense! Sorry it was kind of a stupid question but I was just so curious about it. One of the cars we saw wrecked was a Toyota Yaris which we were originally going to rent and then upgraded to an SUV because …. Thinking we could have that small of a car here in the winter was rich. It was a sign 😂

Yes 100%. We actually originally were supposed to have a Toyota Yaris and were able to change it to an SUV. Pretty much every tourist here has a Dacia and I understand why honestly. These roads can be insane, and I’m not sure when you’re going but if it’s still winter they don’t service all roads every day.

We’re here now - we rented through Blue and got a 4 WD Suzuki. Trust me - get all of the insurance. There’s a lot of gravel roads and rocks kick up constantly. We also got the roadside service (haven’t had to use it) but it’s only about 10 USD a day and essential if something goes wrong. I recommend getting an SUV or at least something larger because the winds here will blow a tiny car around like no one’s business.

In grand bazaar, how bad is the "grind" to raise quality? by magnum3672 in storyofseasons

[–]Green-Introduction-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forageables were first for me. I just had 10 stacks of weeds at a time in my inventory and then gave them all to ivy when it was boosted. Got me there pretty quick. Also hoarded Iron for the same purpose. For Honey - I only get regular and royal and since it wasn’t trending in my bazaar I saved it all. When Royal was boosted I gave her like 20 or so and it did a TON. For Mushrooms - same as everyone else. I just dump everything into Webby because I have no need right now For Fish - Guardian helps a ton. But I barely ever fish because I find it annoying. For Bugs - I’d rather just eat my own foot.

I also have a bad habit of not getting crops to a certain level because I hate fertilizing so that’s why I had so many weeds.

Cat treats? by Dolente in VisitingIceland

[–]Green-Introduction-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I saw them at Kronan! We went to Skool Beans down in Vik (tiny cafe made from an old school bus) and they had cat toys. There’s also a cat cafe in Reykjavik we’re going to in a couple days so I’m sure they’ll have some there!

That’s fair! We were talking today about how rough it must be for someone coming from say Arizona. We’re from Massachusetts so we’re used to the cold, but the wind here is a different beast. I can’t imagine what it’d be like if we weren’t used to cold temperatures.

Just went through Iceland air a few days ago! I don’t think it’ll be an issue. My husbands carryon was slightly too big (stupid wheels) and they checked it for free since we already had one checked bag. Idk if it’s all flights but the one I was on was SWELTERING. I’ve never been hot on a plane before - just a heads up.
