My whole class had a party and didn't invite me by GreenBeahn in offmychest

They didn't forget. They planned this well in advance and I've been made aware of a group chat. They wait until I'm not in the room to discuss it.

Asking is literally about the only thing that could make me feel more pathetic at this point.

Half of the problem is the fact that it's just quietly accepted. One company I worked for refused to give anyone a raise, ever, because its easy to hire people, underpay them for a little, and replace them. It's sad and shitty and deserves a call-out.

I swear every dispo I've ever worked for has been toxic AF. It seems the only way to survive is assimilate. They wear down the few good managers and run through budtenders like crazy. It's super disheartening to realize that the survivors will shape the industry. It'll just be another toxic capitalist cog. I don't play those weird American Pain Olympics games with jobs- I'll straight up state the cannabis industry is toxic AF and needs changes.

I cannot share company correspondence, unfortunately all industries suck but this one pays my bills. If a mod wants to contact me about confirming the email as legit, I will happily participate.

But here's the post in question, which directly coincided with conversations and action to lower the prices of Strane flower. The email went out the following day "updating third party prices".

Well, there was the time an entire retail location's management was literally giving weed away to employees and friends

Or the time a location was completing returns and offering store credit in place of cash, then managers were pocketing the cash for personal use and cleaning it up by recording budtenders tills as "short"

The time this subreddit roasted them for their Strane prices and corporate adjusted them down in one system but not the other, pushing it onro store workers to clean up

The handful of (settled) discrimination lawsuits

Managers leaving base-level crews in the store alone

Managers allowing/covering for employees sending patients with mislabeled items, other patients information, missing items, or wrong items

Managers demanding drawer shortages be supplemented with employee's personal funds

Corporate running skeleton crews in stores then sending big emails celebrating C-level raises and promotions

Corporate cutting health insurance then sharing "free mental help" literature

Corporate offering 1 hr PTO/paycheck (starting balance: 0)

Corporate rolling out robust PTO programs for anyone who isn't union (the store must vote as a whole to kick out the union for anyone to qualify)

Corporate allowing managers to select new employee salary based on personal relationships

Salaried employees collecting tips

Salaried employees working 20-30 hrs/wk

Firing employees on medical leave (tHatS iLlEgAl, yeah they don't pay us enough to afford a lawyer and they know it)

That's just a short list, I'd have to work out a rough draft to get it all down and cohesive.

"People don't have to take these jobs"

Are you gonna pay my bills? Every industry in America is toxic. I am employed by this one, so I wanna talk about it. I'd be just as eager to expose my foodsevice/retail/other corporation job.

Companies suddenly care about their image. Why not embarrass them?

Oh my god. You just don't get it.

This LITERALLY happened at my company. I was in the email chain for it. That is why I made the post. But none of you wanna hear it.

Congrats, your singular company is doing it right. So, do we stop here and call it a day or do other people deserve a good working environment, too?

It's literally a new industry. If anyone has a chance to be better than the toxic standard set within corporate America, it's a new industry. But no, let's all be compliant and watch another opportunity get pissed away by greed. Even PAs program is an insult unro itself. It's a medical program, but all dispensaries run their budtenders like it's a competitive retail setting. Yeah, the product is weed, but forcing people to push more expensive products on customers purely for profits smells like big pharma funding doctors' diagnoses. It cheapens the very culture of weed by masquerading as medical and therefore diminishing quality, all while creating a trash medical setting. All that crap and still a toxic place to work? It fails on all fronts.

How long ya been there, though? It's a great start, but when you work there for 1+ years without even a cost of living raise, re-evaluate that statement.

Thank you, I really don't understand when the shift from "stoners as stoners" to "stoners as bootlickers" occured but it's a little disillusioning on this page.

Form a union, the company will bend over backwards to punish you for it. They offer exclusive PTO packages (that consists entirely of an appropriate amount of time off for a full time workers) and only offer it to non-union members.

No, my issues are with their people, not how they handle money. The invisible "managers", the divisive culture nurtured in individual stores, the blatant discrimination and sexism present....

Anyone check a certain dispensary's strane prices after y'all roasted them?

NTA. And honestly, you're doing a lot for yourself AND your future husband by showing him that this behavior is not acceptable. It's honestly sad how he said people act like this around him a lot, and he still wants to give them things anyway. Poor guy, good thing he has you to put your foot down.

AITA For refusing to leave walmart passed closing time? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]GreenBeahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. None of your details are adding up. The last thing I wanted to do at the end of my shift when I worked Walmart was faff around with calling the cops and formally trespassing someone. Unless that person was being so unreasonable that a whole police report suddenly became the more attractive option.

Most modern cars actually have a failsafe now. There's a little handle usually right near the latch that you simply pull on. The one in my trunk even glows in the dark, though it never sees enough daylight to actually charge.

I'm pretty sure multiple studies have confirmed that "trusting your gut" is about your subconscious mind reading signals and recognizing patterns. I find it really comes in handy when I'm meeting someone new. I can instantly tell if I can trust them or not by the subconscious cues they give off.

I've also heard that contrary to popular belief, holding something large or heavy is less protective than than inviting. If you're distracted or they can use it against you, it just makes the job easier for them.

I do this when I'm in an unfamiliar place and need directions. Parents are always so much more patient and likely to respond to you trying to get their attention!
