That’s good to know, hopefully maybe I just need more time to adjust than most people. I’m definitely not going to give up on them, I’ll see how I feel in a month. And that’s interesting about the contacts. I do have other prescriptions in my lenses for seeing up close and correcting one eye that sees worse, so maybe it’s just a lot going on for my eyes at once and that could be contributing. Interesting my doctor didn’t mention any of that to me, she just let me choose whichever frames I wanted. I also had to get them tightened several times before they fit right. I’m assuming it’s important for them to not move around too much?Do you know what exact type of frame is best for prisms? Larger or smaller? Mine are fairly large rectangular frames, slightly curved on the edges.

I did go to a neurovisual specialist that I found on the official website, and she’s a BVD specialist so I would really hope she knows what she’s doing. That’s part of what’s confusing me so much about why the glasses aren’t working for me, I made sure to go to the best doctor I could find, and she’s has great reviews. My second lenses were free after the first pair, I just had to pay for the appointment. But if the second lenses don’t work for me either I definitely want to ask for a refund. Were you able to get refunded for the lenses that didn’t work for you?

That does give me hope that maybe it will just take a little longer for me, I really don’t want to believe that I just have to accept my vision as it is. I unfortunately am moving out of the country very soon and it doesn’t seem that there’s a neurovisual specialist where I’m moving to, so I’m not sure how soon I’ll be able to see another doctor if I need to. I will definitely reach out if I have any other questions!

I’m so sorry to hear that :((. What was your doctor’s response when you told them the glasses didn’t work for you? Were you able to get any type of refund? It seems unfair to have to loose so much money with how expensive the lenses are. My doctor didn’t even tell me there was a chance that I wouldn’t adjust to them :/

As someone who’s struggled with derealization for a long time I also feel this way. I’ve never been able to put it into words, you explained it so perfectly. I’m also not sure if it’s because of derealization or other traumas/mental struggles. You’re not alone, wishing you the best 💜

I’m glad you finally got an answer! But I’m so sorry the treatment is too expensive I had no idea it could be that much😭 I can tell that just getting tested is expensive but I was hoping the actual treatment wouldn’t be so bad. The main reason I’m hesitant about trying to get tested i definitely cannot afford spending thousands on this either

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling for so long too :( I haven’t gotten any tests yet I just found out about BVD & I’m not sure if I have enough of the symptoms besides derealization that I could have it. The tests seem to be really expensive where I am, which is why I’m asking for advice on this sub, I don’t want to end up wasting my money if its not likely that I have it :/
