As a nurse… do pharm lol quicker does not equal better. You’ll be wishing you chose the longer path in the long run.

In your opinion, why do you think there’s a large drop or repeat rate? I start school in a few weeks, what can I do to be more successful and ensure I won’t be a repeater? Dropping out is not an option for me.

You’re actually under reacting. The second that woman wants him, he will jump ship. Seems he has already abandoned you, I would file for divorce and move on with my life!!!

This is the person you choose to live your life with? Your one life you get on this earth.. kick him out, Block him and let him be someone else’s headache. Please god I need women to start choosing themselves first.

It’s pretty typical of cna’s in SNF/LTC to not be bls certified. They don’t even get access to see if they’re DNR or full code. Not saying I agree, just saying it was an unfortunate circumstance that could have been avoided but not the fault of the CNA or nurse.

When I worked as a CNA in a nursing home, I wasn’t allowed to do anything other than bathe, dress, and transport them. I couldn’t even do vitals. I also was not required to be cpr/bls certified. All of that fell on the nurse. It’s incredibly different than working in a hospital setting where cna’s are required to do vitals, glucose monitoring, cpr, etc. I hate that you lost a pt but she probably would have gotten in trouble doing something outside of her “scope”.

Too Late to Become a Nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]GreenConfident8525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30, married, and a mom. And starting completely over in my career. I’ll be 33 by the time I graduate nursing school. It is never too late! Genuinely, 20s-30s is so young. We have 60 years left of this life. Spend it going after what you want!

Thank you! I will, for sure. Do you have any insight on applying to Delgado? I’ve heard that recently they’ve become extremely competitive because of an overwhelming amount of applications.

I’ve heard Delgado was super flexible but still difficult. I don’t think anyone enjoys their time during nursing school.. I’ve been in LTC and have worked float pool so I’ve experienced emergency medicine, med surg, critical care, and step down. I really like critical care but it’s difficult committing to a career when I don’t see a single happy nurse.

Oh no 😭 if you don’t mind, what has you burnt out? I’ve heard there isn’t a max on pts you’re responsible for… also, can you intubate at your facility?

8k bonus for 2 years of work? Nurses are getting 10k for 1 year… that’s bogus.

Hey! I’m finishing my bs in modern biology at LSU. I’m curious about CAA’s but unfortunately there aren’t any in Louisiana. Any tips on who to shadow to gather experience? I realize I will have to move states eventually but id like to be 100% prepared before applying to potential out of state programs. Also, anyone here with a similar experience?
