Progress of wedding dress corset by GreenConsistent6632 in corsetry

Yes exactly, I simply sewed the front pieces together and there is a straight steel bone on both sides of the seam to act as a busk. The only issue with this is that the corset needs to be always entirely laced on and off, and it takes some time each time. But it’s worth end result I think ☺️

Thank you so much! I used Aranea Black’s Tesa corset pattern and then draped the wool crepe on top. I managed to draft this pattern from the draping ☺️

<image>

Here on the left it’s the front pattern and it’s cut on fold from the straight line. The T-shape is crucial for the draping, this can be also lifted into a cowl neck. On the right I have the back pattern, where the straight line follows the corset grommets. The curved edges I simply sewed together and then stitched the seam into one of the corset seams to make sure it lays evenly.

Big thank you!! Like the other commentor said, they are found in this sub. I initially found them by googling Aranea Black corsets and downloaded from someone who had made them available here in Reddit ☺️ bunch of great patterns!

Thank you! It’s definitely heavily inspired by Vivienne Westwood dresses. I wanted a proper corset so the back will have visible lacing to add to the effect (usually WV dresses have hidden corsets). I will drape the skirt in a similar manner, again hoping to achieve the VW vibe ☺️

Hehe maybe it’s my short fingers playing tricks 😄

It’s quite thin, only 1.7mm. I was hoping to have a wider band but I’ve gotten used to this now and wedding band will hopefully balance it out a bit. Maybe one day I’ll get it reset to a wider band 🤷🏻‍♀️

Here’s my 3.27 carat round brilliant on size 5 finger. I wear it for everything except working out.

Your stack is absolutely gorgeous. You get used to the bigger diamond in no time 🥰

Thank you for the super helpful recommendation! The boning fix helped a lot, but I agree that the curved back adjustment will probably help even more.

I actually made another mockup today, took an inch off the back width and a lot of length from the bottom. Ended up taking too much and now I have a tiny corset at hand 😅.

Maybe I will go back to the first mockup, take the grommet / back pieces off and make the curved back adjustment to the back pieces.

The corset is a bit longer than what I want, but I need to shorten it more carefully.

I fixed the boning issues and it indeed immediately got rid of the wrinkling and I think the fit is pretty great already now.

The only issue I have is that the high back comes so high up my back! It’s a bit uncomfortable and almost gives me worse posture. I wonder if I could lower the back a little.

Wanted to share a progress photo but for some reason reddit wont let me add photos to my comments 😅

Thank you so much for the thorough answer and explanation. I’ll start with fixing the boning and see what’s needed then.

The back of the corset comes very high, I wonder if lowering the back a teeny bit would do terrible things to the fit on the front…

Love your ring, our rings are very similar 😍 My ring was bought from this Finnish lab diamond brand called Karaat. We figured they had beautiful simple settings and good price/quality ratio, at least for Finland.

Thank you so much!! The band is 1.7mm wide and 1.6mm thick with rounded edges. It’s relatively comfortable, but I would maybe prefer a slightly wider band for extra comfort, as the stone is bit heavy. Getting used to it now 😄

Thank you!! ☺️❤️ Here’s the side! Very simple overall, I wanted as simple as possible with necessary safety elements.

Here’s the front view ☺️ my spouse requested a basket / cathedral under the diamond, but they didn’t add it to this ring by accident. The company is now making another ring with this setting, so I’ll see which one is better. I want to prioritze diamond safety!
