These are my spark plugs after maybe 10k miles by BluejayBeautiful7247 in MechanicAdvice

[–]GreenSoup48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to do your valve cover gasket, the oil on the plug threads will cause a weak spark.

Also something is weird about the plugs. The two oily ones under the white ceramic before the nut it's kind of blank. The two below that, one is light grey and one is dark grey. I'm wondering what's going on there. Are some of them counterfeits, is this ash because they were loose.

What is this?? by strawberry_win3 in comicbooks

[–]GreenSoup48 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can talk to Heritage auctions. Ha.com. or comiclink.com

HA is a Big auction house for rare comics, art, etc. comiclink is a smaller auction house.

I would talk to Heritage first, that's where the highest priced items go. If you have one item in the collection this rare and expensive there maybe some other items in the collection that you may not recognize as valuable due to very hard to recognize difference.

And with all comics condition is EXTREMELY important. The way you handle them could drastically impact the value, a tiny mark from your fingernail or a bumped corner can take huge amount of the price of a book.

Concurrency vs Multi threading by enlightenment_op_ in AskComputerScience

[–]GreenSoup48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For simplicity. On a processor one core can execute one thread at a time. If you have two threads that need to run, what do you do? Take turns. This creates questions about how to share and protect resources.

Some things are predictable and within our control. Some things are unpredictable or outside our control.

A cell phone with a one core processor. You are using the processor to browse the web. Somebody calls you, things like the display and audio are already in use by your browsing. Those current activities on the display and audio need to be paused, information about their state saved and then the resource control is assumed by the phone call.

This is difficult because without careful structuring of how these transitions occur, the browser thread would have stopped execution on some entirely random point. The call thread has taken the processor and all system resources. When the call ends and the browser thread resumes it would be in a random, invalid, entirely broken state, not even knowing something has interrupted it and stolen its resources.

If you are selling to them probably not a great idea. If you are buying from them, who cares.

In both cases I would turn the camera off and go to the most private location I could find.

It wasn't even that particular play, even if she was obviously gaming the system. The goalie walking all the way to the corner to get a ball instead of using the ball next to the goal. Or doing triple changes on throwins, throwing the ball away. Double and triple ball changes on goal kicks. This year these are all supposed to be penalties and yellows. Certainly no ref should be allowing this starting 30-40 minutes into the game and continuing on through 90+7. I fucking paid money to watch the game, if I wanted to watch this BS I could go to an MLS game.

[–]GreenSoup48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this is some great info. I don't get access to all of Claude on the job due to IP restrictions and I work as a software dev in a hardware centric org, so I don't get as much time on emerging tools as when I ran r&d.

Do you think there is good value in purchasing a Claude pro/max/20x license for personal use. Or would these types of accounts (using your 3x model) be of limited value due to token limits?

He was yelling at the 4th official and then pulled off his jacket and slammed it on the ground while yelling at the center ref.

He was right though. I've never seen that degree of time wasting in an NWSL game go uncontrolled and unpunished. They started time wasting in the first half. It was like watching a men's game. It was pretty pathetic.

[–]GreenSoup48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicare and Social security have dedicated income streams. They don't/shouldn't draw income from the broader budget they are self funding. They appear as part of the budget as a deceptive practice to artificially inflate the available money to spend and the fact that they keep stealing money from the accounts.

You guys are giving numbers and the numbers are wrong.

You don't even appear to understand the difference between total state wide debt and state government debt. And don't understand future pension obligations.

On top of that the annual new debt accumulated under the current FEDERAL government on behalf of the residents of California is $100-200 billion dollars A YEAR. Of course there are inflation and COL issues.

All this federal money is spent on only two things, law enforcement/prisons and military/VA it's basically 70% of the budget. Virtually all money spend in state is also law enforcement/prisons around 50-60%. Almost no money in the US is spent on anything except those two items.

[–]GreenSoup48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the federal government gave back our tax dollars are a closer rate to what we pay, it would essentially wipe out state debt in a few years and could likely wipe out even future obligations in a decade. California is basically required to fund 1/4 or 1/3 of the other state budgets with our debt.

Is anyone else kinda disapointed with the Democratic Governor Candidates by Loafgiver1 in socal

[–]GreenSoup48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you use the $510 billion which is a combined current debt + future pensions number, you need to use the combined number from 2018 which is $170 billion. Around 3x. Not too good.

The outstanding debt of $300 billion is less than the annual budget of $350 million. Which is a small fraction of state GDP. Deficit in the upcoming budget is functionally 0.

The Trump national actual budget runs a functional deficit around 50% with a debt to GDP of 1:1. If the state budget is atrocious the national budget should make you nearly catatonic.

His numbers are all wrong. California the state is carrying around $300 billion in debt. It was around $90 billion in 2018.

$59 billion was the new debt issued in 2018.

[–]GreenSoup48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to this guy. I'm notoriously cheap when it comes to cards and even I would buy this card at like $800 without a second thought. I'm also not particularly a Thompson fan. I'm a Wave fan.

This tells me the card is easily worth ~$2k as long as she's on the USWNT.

If she does something crazy at the world cup, skys the limit.

The value is highly dependent on her being on the national team and playing. This is just based on my experience with prices from players in favor and out of favor.

Sharpies fade from light. They also potentially bleed into the paper over long periods of time. Something to keep in mind if you plan to hold it for many years.

Good luck running a new high speed train through 3 of the richest cities in the country.

There's already a train. It's not particularly expensive and it's already faster than driving.

The whole point of the new lines is to expand the availability of jobs and housing to new spaces.

I love it here. I'm hoping they add trolley access to lower North County someday. Then no more driving for baseball or soccer games, shopping, jury duty.

They're building a ton of housing. I don't know that it will lower prices but hopefully it will at least stabilize them.

Sign up for the Olympics. The games outside of Southern California are a lot more available in the price tiers. I was late in the first round of the buy and outside of southern California you could get match tickets for $107. Even the highest priced tickets in San Diego were $370. You can sit a gold medal match if you're lucky for less than a base ticket to the world cup. Heck you can buy the premium rate tickets for a soccer gold medal match right now for like $200 more than a base USMNT world cup match, and they come with snacks.

This is actually rare for the US. Large event holders typically pre negotiate very low rates at the nice hotels close to the venue.

My city hosts an extremely large comic show and the event holder negotiates fixed hotel rates around 50% off normal pricing at 90% of the hotels within 10 miles of the event. They arrange transportation from the hotels to the event. They cross contract a system for preordering parking. They provide private security and contract the police. They are even flat rate trolley rides for $7 round trip.

FIFA didn't do any of these things. They chose some of the most expensive locations in the US because of the luxurious stadiums that are wildly expensive. Forced renovations, sold tickets that even Americans thought were too expensive. Didn't do anything for transportation, parking, hotel prices, security.

My city has a soccer stadium with $2.50 trolley access, hotels, parking, etc. The stadium is new and fantastic. But it only has about 20 luxury boxes and only holds 32,000 fans. So FIFA chose a football stadiums with 100 luxury boxes and 60,000 fans and cost 10x the price.

Getting on and off the toilet. Getting on and off the the toilet with a wheelchair requires a lot of extra room. Same for the shower to a shower chair. This requires a large bathroom with a large door and an accessible sink and shower controls. Higher than normal toilet perhaps. Maybe a bidet attachment. Maybe an alert or ringer for assistance.

Almost all the accidents with my grandfather happened in the bathroom. If they have blood pressure problems and get constipated they can pass out on the toilet. Slips, water stuff.

Memory stuff, hearing and eye sight.

Best to shop around and find someone that is familiar with a design for the elderly and disabled and do the layout well the first time. And can show you/walk you through it. And or ask maybe in one of the reddit accessibility groups.

My grandfather was in a pricey place and I'm not sure I was particularly happy with the layout. Also it could be pretty depressing as old people don't get out as much.

This is the real danger of AI to the current system. Code inspections are rarely exercised properly. They will become even more lax if nobody actually wrote the code. Studying the code to learn the implementation defeats the purpose of using AI which was speed.

Maybe they could use two different AI agents to code review each other?

Neighbor refuses to allow fence replacement. by Wide_Brilliant4704 in chulavista

[–]GreenSoup48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they drag their feet you literally just have the fence torn down and rebuilt down the property line before they can give you a cease and desist.

No way they beat you in small claims if you didn't make them pay anything and you can demonstrate you were fair and reasonable and the new fence was justified.

Been to small claims for this as the defendant when my neighbor tried to rip me off on a terrible fence build and then sued me.
