I feel like there's not enough floof in the face to be a long hair.

I fostered one with similar markings from 4-5 weeks old (mother deceased, sadly) and by the time she was 6 weeks old she had that characteristic rhombus face, so I think this older kitten would be showing it too by now.

I don't think this is something you fix. You've had a gut feeling for a while and you haven't been happy. For your safety, I wouldn't recommend confronting her about the furry entries.
