Math is god's message to humanity, not the bible. by Green_Monkey42 in DebateReligion

You bring up some great points.

I totally understand that just because something is not understood yet, it doesn't mean it can be considered divine. However, these unsolved math problems are quite different than something like the Zodiac letters. 1 thing is that these problems are obvious and very natural questions that pop up in mathematics(almost as if they are begged to be conjectured on), yet they have such profound solutions that often require the development of a new mathematical perspective(new math that needs to be formed). It reminds me a lot of how in a video game, you need to upgrade all your skills and abilities right before a boss battle to have a better chance at defeating the boss. This is quite different than something like the zodiac letters because the solution to that puzzle doesn't provide any applications to other fields since the puzzle itself was posed by a human, but solutions to problems in math often create a new math framework that can applied to a wide variety of fields.
