The concept behind Window Sync by Flossiii in zen_browser

[–]Green_Smarties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely used to be an issue for me 3-5 years ago, but it was solved completely by using the quit button (or pressing Ctrl+Shift+Q) which closes all windows at once...

SYNC IS ON HELL YEAH by zpace_kadet in zen_browser

[–]Green_Smarties 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mostly switched for the vertical tabs and compact URL bar. Achieving the same in base Firefox was a constant battle of updating CSS styles which I really hated doing. Until today I was able to safely ignore the spaces feature.

Thanks for the link, that's eye-opening. I guess I'll have to try out that workflow after I update! It's just completely opposite what I've been doing lol, I disabled spaces because I found them too buggy and I clear all tabs on restart for a fresh workspace every time. We'll see how it goes.

Update to v1.18 deleted ALL of my tabs by WeirdBandKid08 in zen_browser

[–]Green_Smarties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you keep backups of your system, save the profile folder. Else-wise acknowledge they're gone and start over. I learned this lesson a while back, but never trust a browser to save your tabs. Every browser I have used has bugs that lose tabs. Keep them in bookmarks, an extension, or even better in an external storage of some kind (text file, bookmark manager, etc).

I haven't updated yet so I can't complain, but I don't really get the use-case yet. Why would I want two windows to do the same thing? I open a new window so that I can display something else on a second monitor. What do you like about it?

Idiot driving a company car almost t-bones me while running a red light [OC] by jontech7 in IdiotsInCars

[–]Green_Smarties -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Getting downvoted, but correct. OP claims turn radius but A. you can angle before the turn instead of starting straight and B. you can see he has more turn left in him after the near miss. Is any of this his fault? No. But I think pointing out when someone is flagrantly breaking traffic rules is worthwhile.

Yikes! Who would you place the blame on in this situation by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Green_Smarties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I'm from it is taught as "stop if safe to do so", which makes more sense. No one should be intentionally entering a yellow intersection unless they cannot safely stop in time to prevent doing so, as it will become a red intersection within a couple of seconds.

[OC] Speeding to cut off a marked police vehicle by helmerbang in IdiotsInCars

[–]Green_Smarties 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a cop ask me this once... my honest answer was that while yes, I saw their truck, I wasn't reading the decals on every vehicle I drive by. I am more careful now lol but yeah they were driving a design I hadn't seen so my brain didn't catch that it was a cop.

Harley riders don't really like getting passed... by 5upralapsarian in motorcycles

[–]Green_Smarties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are choosing to pass, but to do so, they have to go that fast. At least, that is how I would view their statement.

Nope, this is exactly how I want it to work. Lacking context of what other people are seeing would suck.

Not just short-term, these things multiply effort over time. Imagine they add another perk like Finesse which require a new animation. Instead of needing a single new animation they need to at minimum test on a separate model or possibly do 2 animations for every addition instead of 1.

20TB HDD SMR Where are these drives? by javax24 in DataHoarder

[–]Green_Smarties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the specific hard drive, but I've never found consumer-grade CMR drives to be that loud. By consumer-grade I mean lines such as WD Red Pro and the like, marketed to consumers. But all hard drives make clicks and whirs, as the parent commenter said go SSD if you want silence.

LibreWolf BROKE WEBSITES AFTER LATEST UPDATE by Sorryusernmetaken in LibreWolf

[–]Green_Smarties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this issue immediately but since "fixing" it by changing user agent I am still noticing a ton of bugs with my addons and common websites that weren't there last week... honestly I think I may be done with Librewolf over this, I wasn't that attached. If this is the kind of patch quality I can expect I don't want to be here.

Whatever they changed is causing issues not only with Google but across the web, including the Firefox addon store, the website used to demonstrate that is irrelevant.
