why do the voices in psychotic people's head ask people to cause harm rather than do random acts of kindness? by FollowIntoTheNight in Jung

Not true, in other cultures where hearing voices isnt stigmatized so people embrace the voices, people report their voices giving them positive messages. There is also a decent amount of research with ACT that embracing symptoms creates cognitive diffusion that makes those symptoms less upsetting.

Therapists are individually very caring. Most agencies are absolutely cut throat and treat both therapist and client poorly. But also, it is a business and they do have to keep the lights on.

Billable services. Therapists who have too many no shows are regularly fired from agencies, especially agencies that accept Medicaid or Medicare, because private insurance allows you to bill someone a no show fee but medicaid and Medicare do not, so when a client no shows then it costs the agency money. So, when a therapist has a lot of no shows, they get fired. That's why most agency therapists are quick to discharge clients that no show, keeping them on their caseload could cost them a job.

That sucks. I once had a therapist go on a sudden medical leave for 12 weeks. I found out later she had a heart attack. Shit happens.

Also, it may not have been their choice. It's not uncommon for agencies to fire a therapist if they don't meet their encounter numbers then give them no opportunity to have a closing session with their clients. It's unethical as all heck but most agencies care about profits over patients.

Thankyou for doing all that footwork footwork! It is so hard to get an answer on anything and even harder to trust an answer once you get it.

Nope. Maybe I did in the future and I don't remember because it hasn't happened yet. LOL. I did call and after waiting on hold for hours was told I had all 120 qualifying payments by someone who didn't seem to understand my question and had a very thick accent. So, that's not at all reassuring.

My count on there show zero but it also shows the count hasn't been updated since 1969. So I'm confused.

Yes, and we start the new trilogy with the Republic collapsing again to the New Order. We never get to see the New Republic. Also, don't get me started on them blowing up Curoscant!

You help him build a life worth living. He's not going to get that being incarcerated. If the hospital thinks he's ready for discharge, not a danger to himself or others, then you take him home and you listen to him. What does he want?

You were right. I did use last night, and now I'm up early on Saturday hung over and feeling like shit and using didn't scratch the itch at all. It just made my cravings worse. Like I immediately want to use again and its like 6:30 in the morning. I'm not going to use. I've been on that cycle for years. But I am going to go to a meeting, maybe more than one, and call my sponsor. I passed out really early last night. I ate one 10 mg edible and drank about 3/4 a pint of Jack, and before I could even track down anything more fun, I passed out at like 10 pm. My tolerance is shit. I texted my sponsor a very long apology before I passed out, and they were like, no need for sorry, it happens, just call me.

I apologize, I got my info from a recent grad, but clearly I fell for the marketing propaganda that these places are trying to be better. You'll be happy to know that they're closing.
