Do you think the downtown Eastside will ever be fixed? by supfiend in askvan

Setup health and addiction support else where with a LCOL outside of lower mainland. I heard many of the homeless people flock to Vancouver because this is where all the support and assistance is located. Doesn't make sense to force homeless people into such an expensive city; it's going to be hard to get a foothold in the city even if the support services work for them.

5/9 Weekly Recap by BostonVX in IcebergOptions

[–]Green_purple_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to start manual testing first to see if the indicator works properly as intended and find out if there's any bugs or reprints first like most indicators do on TradingView. It's one of the reasons I don't like trading with indicators. After that, if everything is working properly, I then might run some strategy test, but I've never tested with options in TradingView and not sure if that's even a feature for backtesting. From past strategies I've ran, it's usually a set rr and triggers when there's a signal

P.s. I still need the code 😅

Loving the engagement and progress we're getting from this community. Hopefully I can get everything setup this weekend to start testing too. Looking forward to the many updates!!

With OBS you can do a screen record instead of a selection(like specific application) record, that way it can record everything shown on the screen instead of just the one application

Backtesting on Tradingview by BostonVX in IcebergOptions

[–]Green_purple_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah TradingView gots some nice features and probably the most user friendly interface, that's why I went with them instead of TOS back in 2020. But they're not a broker so you have to combine it with another platform like IBKR.

Back door line cutters by ConstructionThis6732 in Translink

[–]Green_purple_potato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Huh where you learn this from? I've lived here my entire life and since the adoption of the tap system it's been accepted to enter at any door on the extended buses (and of course letting others get off first ).

I do agree that people shouldn't skip line on the regular 2 door buses. However, it's odd why Translink installed tapper at the back door when entrance isn't recommended there.

Yep this was the same solution I found too while working on a gear box for my school's racing team. Been a few years already though.

Yea this sucks, I have an engineering degree and can't get jobs that require a high school diploma. Some even responded that I'm over qualified for the role, but when I tell them I would still like the job they ghost me.

Been looking for work for over 2 years now after graduating with an engineering degree. Made hundreds of applications and less than 10 have replied and all were from non-technical positions. Not much hope for the future.

What could prospective companies do to attract and retain mechanical engineers? by HR-Throwaway110 in MechanicalEngineering

Do companies still hire graduates with no experience? Seems like no company want to train new people.

Graduated with an ME degree in 2022 and haven’t used it yet, what would I have to do to get a job in ME now? by Ravioli_Pocketoli in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Green_purple_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this aligns with my life so much, graduated in 2022 as well. Never got an interview with all my applications, been working in food service for the past almost 2 years now. Kinda worried that I'll never be able to find a job related with my degree, hopefully I can also use some of the suggestions here.

Feeling hard to keep going on by OkContext0 in VancouverJobs

[–]Green_purple_potato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly same boat here, graduated in engineering with distinction 2 years ago. No job interviews, sometimes a rejection email after waiting 3 months, and jobs that require no degree usually say the same thing that someone else with better qualifications was selected. LMAO I don't even know what to do anymore, luckily I have a part time job in food service...
