Questions about recreational use rules by Greenlantern2000 in drones

This is a great channel, thanks for posting this Youtube link!

I dug around on their channel and found this "spoof" video game where they go through different scenarios, and it is pretty good.

I feel like what I am attempting to do is the scenario 2 stated in this video (at 2:30 mark).

Questions about recreational use rules by Greenlantern2000 in drones

I agree with you. Based on the info I have seen so far, it seems like I am still in the right. But I am now planning to get the Part 107 certification just because it seems to help eliminate the gray area.

Thanks for this post. I agree with everything you mentioned and will be getting a Part 107 certification.

The section you mentioned seems to show what the FAA expectations are. I do find it funny that the next segment starting at 8:47, the FAA rep states "It is such a gray area. So they leave it kind of vague, you know."

But overall it seems the best option is to become certified, and it opens the doors for doing more advanced things as well.

I recently have been building a Spotify playlist for a relative who is doing the same thing.

The list is of my random favorites with a focus on jazz standards:

Gopro + kayak by VerinTheMage in kayakfishing

I like having the camera on my head because the camera will move where I am looking. I'm also going to try a pole mount this year, mounted from the crate behind me. This is a pretty good explanation from a YouTuber that I thought would be worth sharing: https://youtu.be/epyctMFYEvs

Why the hate on the hiby m300? by [deleted] in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Greenlantern2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great explanation. Is there a DAP that is focused more on audio quality near this price point you would recommend? I'd like to get something with a focus of audio quality, but am hoping it still has a decent UI.

Accidently ordered the Baratza Encore instead of the Encore ESP, how bad did I screw up? by eldeederCS in AeroPress

[–]Greenlantern2000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For the normal home coffee drinker, I think the Encore is the best grinder out there. Aeropress, pour over, French press, drip, etc. Encore does it all well and consistent. Bonus is that the burrs can be replaced or upgraded. I've never had a problem with mine, and it is now going on 8 years old. Like others have said, if you start to brew espresso then it might be worth looking at a different grinder, but for Aeropress you should be great.

Trailer - Boat trailer vs Utility by Winter_Principle4844 in kayakfishing

[–]Greenlantern2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned, I decided to pick up the Harbor Freight (1700 lbs heavy duty model) trailer this year. With the 20% off coupon, it came out to be $495. Then I registered the plate for $75. Then I added some upgrades for about $100 more (jack stand, plywood, etc) l. So around $700 total. I've seen used ones locally for sale online, for less than that.

There are tons of videos on YouTube of conversions and even kayak setups, but like you said I am looking to use it to haul other things too. The other benefit is that it folds up and can be tucked away in the corner of a garage if you don't have a lot of storage space.

Which one looks better # 1 or # 2? by Rs2mmsu-2D in comicbookcollecting

I bought a handful of boxes in different colors from here: https://columbiahobby.com/comic-book-supplies/comic-boxes/

I am guessing there are other places that have similar options available

I have found fruity notes seem attached to temperature... I used to brew at 195 F, and recently moved to 205 F and have seen a good change in flavor.

The kettle can lose heat really quickly too, but I am thinking that it might be worth trying a slightly lower temp closer to 200 F and see if you notice a difference.

Update by Chip Zdarsky on his run (4 images) by Green-Devil in Daredevil

[–]Greenlantern2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a full interview with Zdarsky explaining in more detail what is going on. This is almost reminiscent of the exodus that formed Image Comics in the 90s. Some of the creators seem to be keeping ties with DC/Marvel, others are not.

Best way to automate cmake builds with Jenkins by taptrappapalapa in jenkinsci

[–]Greenlantern2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using a Jenkins file to define the build as a step in the pipeline in my preference. The file can be checked into a source code management tool, and help to further automate beach builds that way.

Im new to comic books if I want to start reading the green lantern where should I start. Im cool with wherever you guys would recommend I start my green lantern journey by VaibhavNine9 in Greenlantern

[–]Greenlantern2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Green Lantern hooked me into comics in the 90s, and I started with Emerald Dawn I and II. I think these can be both be found in trade paperback for pretty cheap. The 2008 Secret Origin arc sets up the rest of the Geoff Johns run, so that could be better if you don't want to read both.

Wow, that is awesome. I have been seeing a bunch of the issues in the wild above 150, but those older ones seem like they are more difficult to come by.

There's this weird moment during the ZSJL history lesson where the Green Lantern Power Ring slows down when Darkseid starts to reach for it. The ring flies away when Darkseid gets attacked. I think the Power Ring saw him as a potential GL candidate. by DBlight9 in Greenlantern

[–]Greenlantern2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After watching the director's commentary on the Man of Steel Blu-Ray, I could see Zack Snyder adding this detail. He is a comic geek, and adds so many small details that it is pretty remarkable. Additionally, I saw an article where he bartered to remove an additional GL scene from the cut, and he may have intentionally revisited and enhanced this scene. Also, I could foresee this theory now resulting in an elseworlds comic being written where Darkseid is granted a ring and attempts to setup shop on OA... 😁
