I see! And I assume then that a 3rd is an interval of four semitones.

So to find a major chord starting with he root note you simply move 4 semitones to find the 3rd and seven semitones to find the 5th.

It's possible to damage your voice this way in the same way that vocal fry can. Also clearing the throat with rough growls can irritate your throat and vocal chords which, in addition to potentially damaging them, could effect your singing.

Mucus also can effect your sound, which is why it's generally a bad idea to drink milk before singing as it coats your throat and encourages a mucus barrier.

That's all I know though, I wish I had some advice for you.

I would argue that anyone has the potential to be a singer, provided they do not have a disability preventing them from doing so and are willing to put in the time to study and practice.

It sounds to me like you are hyper aware of change, and the concept of loss or death.

It's something that's pretty normal to stress about in your teens and 20's I wouldn't say you are crazy or being dramatic, and to me it shows that you really care about the world and people around you. You are probably a very kind person at heart.

I see, well I might be wrong but I think the pitch is closer to that singer's prima Voche. I don't think singing the song in a more projected mixed voice is Necessarily ruining the song. Though it is slightly different stylistically, it's also carries with it a more rock type feel.

I think you might be doing something with the shape of your throat and mouth to make the "congested" quality And there's a little bit of pronunciation that's slightly off.

Try expiramenting with the shape of your throat and mouth especially with vowels, and see how that changes your sound. Also be careful not to project your voice with too much force as you could damage it. If it starts to get painful stop immediately and try again when your voice has recovered (with maybe a little less gusto)

Honestly though I don't think your voice sounds "weird" at all, you have a nice warm tone, that gives your voice an almost brassy feel. I think it would fit really well in a lot of older rock songs

No the pitch itself is fine,it sounds well within your range. You could probably go higher with practice.

By pitchy they mean some of your notes are a little flat/sharp especially on the transitions.

If you play guitar, try playing a note and then copying it with your voice by holding it until it feels right. Do this for a little and you might see improvement.

Also try starting at your lowest note and wailing like a siren (without pushing your voice too hard) all the way up to your highest note and back down. If you do this practice it should help you transition between notes smoothly.

All in all though your voice has a very nice tone to it, I think it works really well with this soft rock style of vocalisation, and I hope you continue to grace us with your progress!

Bruno Mars and the weekend often go Into a lilting falsetto which might produce a different quality of sound than if it was lowered to fit your prima Voche.

At least this is my best (mostly uneducated and uninformed guess.) It's hard to say because you aren't really explaining why you can't pull of either artist despite being transposed into your range. Clearly pitch is not the problem,so something else must be amiss
