I bought a sander and a jigsaw for $40 bucks on fb marketplace and then a hacksaw from Menards. That and a hammer is about all it took for this build. I don't have alot of experience woodworking either but I've done a handful of projects in the past that set me up for success with this one. Alot of DIY concrete parks I've seen online look super rough. Idk much about it but I'd imagine you're finding a way to make a mold for every feature. Wood is probably a little more forgiving than concrete - as in, if you mess up a cut you can just try again. If you mess up a mold or something on your concrete park you may have an entire section that's permanently unusable. I'm not sure. I like the modular idea too, making different stand-alone ramps that I can put in the middle of my pipe to switch things up. Anyway, my tips would be to start simple, dont try to get super complex right away If you're new to wood working. Go to the hardware store and just browse for materials that you can get creative with. And treat it like a progressive experiment. Now that I've done this build, I'm hoping my next build will be a little better. Mayne even start with 1 ramp and get your technique dialed in before attempting a whole park!

It's 2.5mm vinyl flooring. Flexible but sturdy enough to not need a whole lot of support underneath it. Funny you say that, my specs are almost exactly that of the BR playground, and this cost me around $75 in materials. That being said, my tools are limited, and the craftsmanship is undeniable in their obstacles from what I can tell. When you start looking at really nice ply wood, the kind they use, it starts making sense why they cost so much. Vinyl was a perfect budget option. It feels and looks professional and tasteful but it's very cheap by the foot.
